WOW!  This is a great deal.  A 1 TB (terabyte = 1000 gigs) external USB drive for only about $145!  Just incredible and a huge amount of back up space.  Check it out:

Only downside is it's USB.. not firewire.. but I think I can live with that.

But I did find one for $189 with Firewire.. is it worth the extra $40 for the firewire??

Rico

In my view not really.  Firewire will give you better sustained speed, but USB is more universal.  And USB 2.0 is pretty quick.  I use one much like the one I listed here (it's a 750 MB capactiy) and I can even stream video off it via USB.

In my opinion, stick with the most simple of hardrives.  I had a fairly "complicated" Hardrive from Western Digital and it broke just a little too easy and caused quite a few problems with my computer.  I bought another more simple External hardrive from the same company and have no complaints whatsoever.  I "stream" Stargate episodes via USB and it works nicely.
