Not looking bad - feels better than the current one to me. It maybe just the usual 'new toy' syndrome but I like it.

Actually I'm working on it right now and have been most of this afternoon.  It will probably become the new main page sometime this coming week.

Ok - new main page is up live now.  All old links should auto redirect for you.  But update your bookmarks for the main site.  Please let me know if anything doesn't seem like it is working properly.  The next weeks or so I will still be making some minor tweaks, but the main part is done.  Hope you all like the new look!

P.S.  Please feel free to comment to posts too!  One of the ideas to move to Wordpress for the main site was to post more stories there and also to generate comments on the posts too!
