Three-time ultimate fighting champion Randy Couture stars in the adrenaline-pumping action film "The Scorpion King 2″ Rise of a Warrior" coming to DVD on August 19, 2008.

From the makers of "The Scorpion King" comes the prequel, "The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior." This films reveals how it all began. The latest chapter of the Scorpion King franchise stars Randy Couture, three-time UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) Heavyweight champion and from Russell Mulcahy, director of "Resident Evil: Extinction" and "Highlander."

Mulcahy calls his film a heroic tale of loyalty and betrayal filled with action, heart-stopping suspense, and thrilling visual effects. "The Scorpion King 2: Rise of a Warrior" is being touted as the perfect entertainment vehicle for audiences who love excitement, spectacle, and surprises.

If it's so cool how come we ain't heard a word about this flick until now? It's probably not even rental worthy. The First Scorpion King barely passes as a one time rental. Not sure I really want to see another one.

I saw previews of this before the movies I saw this weekend. If it is straight to DVD, then I am not putting out much hope that it will be that great. I enjoyed the first Movie with the Rock. I doubt that Randy Couture has any where near the presence that the Rock had. I was a bit disappointed with the Mummy 3, so I suspect that this movie might not be worth the time it takes to invest in watching it.
