Microsoft Zune - Big Sale!

The MS Zune's are really starting to drop in price (version 1).  www.woot.com has them on sale today for $99. for a 30 GB refub. model!  I'm very tempted.  I love my iPOD, but it's a bit older and doesn't do video.  A Zune would be fun to play around with.

O.o  I'm midly interested.  Although I already have an Ipod Nano (2nd Generation) so....not sure.

A problem with the Zune video is similar to Ipods problem, that the format for videos is limited to quicktime or wmv (ipod doesnt even do WMV) which is a pain if you want to watch movies in other formats.  I guess its not that big a deal if you mainly download movies via itunes but you are going to have to deal with reformatting if you want to watch an AVI.

Yep - that is an issue.  I plan on using it to view mainly video podcasts, which are already encoded to work on these devices.  Don't plan on watching movies on it much.

well...their are several good video converters out there...most for free..and i can get you a total video converter for free if you use torrents. :D

but I have the 30gig white zune and i absolutely love it!
They just recently updated everything so be prepared for a whole new interface!
Some how they upgraded my hardware!
I have no clue how but now all the old zunes run on the new 80gig's software.
But my hardware changed from a 1.4 to a 2.0 so the zune is capable of upgrading!
It's really cool...that's how i got into podcast.
I had no clue what podcasts were until just a few weeks ago..
You made a good joice and the screen is beautiful..you wont be sorry.
