The Hitcher

Has anyone seen the 1986 movie The Hitcher?  It's a thriller about a young man driving a rental car across the country.  While he's in the desert at night, he picks up a hitchhiker to help him stay away.  Insanity ensues.  It's very scary!  You'll never pick up a hitchhiker after seeing this. :laugh: I saw the sequel, but it was quite lame.  Is the remake any good?
