I have to say I am completely impressed by the detail and care in the writing going on so far in the RPG area.  There is some amazing talent and imagination out there in this forum.  I've been kind of swamped this week at work, but I'm am going to spend some quiet time reading it all over again this weekend in better detail.  Hats off to all of you!

I also want to offer my great thanks to you all!

I've been playing around with the idea of starting this up for a few months now & I never thought It could go so well from the word go.

Everyone involved should give themselves a great big pat on the back. And a big special thanks to both Kenny & Rico who have helped and devoted a great deal of time into this.

This is easier than I thought it would be.  In fact I think I am writing too much and I think I'm going to shorten my posts.  I was worried that I wouldn't find anything to write.  Quite the opposite so far.

Also, I just totally invited my guy to the poker game mentioned in page one.

The poker sequences in NG were some of my most favorite in the show.  (Especially the last one in All Good Things, when Picard shows up.  That was some good stuff.)

Hi Elizer. I like the longer posts.  :)
Sometimes its better to write a long scene and address all the situations that other people have included your character in, rather than posting several small scenes that might get bumped further way from the original post your scenes are related to.

I don't think its a problem, but then again I'm pretty wordy myself. I like more descriptive scenes, they help paint the picture in my mind of what's going on, and that naturally takes more verbage, which in turn increases the length of the post. I'm not the moderator, and definately don't have say in the matter but if it were up to me I'd say "if it adds quality to the story, then don't worry about the length." You're doing great! ;)

The lengthy posts are pretty good to read, but to be honest, I can see detail getting in the way of the story. Some of us either don't have the time to post such lengthy details, or we  are not blessed with the extensive vocabulary on display in this story. I for one will be able to post regularly, but not to such detail. This may become a problem in the future as being the Chief of security, I need to know an awful lot about ship layouts and perhaps swot up on my technobabble. As a father of young twins, I cannot find the necessary time to commit to such in-depth postings. I realise I should have thought of this before jumping in feet first asking for such a big role, but hey, my ego thought "why not?"
Also, since this RPG started, I have only looked at the rest of the forums very briefly and I feel that this isn't fair. I originally joined the forums to have some fun and meet like minded Geeks. So, I will see how this goes and If I feel I am letting the side down, I may have to re-think my status on the RPG. Sorry to be heavy and all that, but I need to be honest. Okay Guys, chat to you soon. :blush

Hey Trekkygeek... doesn't matter the size of the post. If you like detailed and long post then that's great. If you like short and to the point post then that is fine. Again I know I say this alot.. but this is all suppose to be fun... Not a chore.

As for your second part of your post.. I agree that the RPG has taken alot time away from the regular forum. I'm currently out of work so I have time to browse both but when work starts up again time will become more rare. I understand where you are coming from and understand if you wish to either cut back on your character (step down as chief) or leave the RPG all together. That will be a choice we all must make.

Jen

I understand too Trekkygeek. In no way am I saying the shorter posts aren't as good. I'm just saying Elizur shouldn't worry if his are too long. I only have time to post once a night if that...This weekend I had nothing better to do that write and write and write. That won't always be the case.  :(

Yeah, I know what you mean about the rest of the forum. But, I hope you keep you're character. I like him and I'm glad you're playing a long.  :)
