Kerbal Space Program

I was listening to the Gamers with Jobs Conference Call and they started discussing this game. I was intrigued, so I went to Steam and picked it up. Wow, what an awesome game. You are in charge of the space program on the planet Kerbal. You are tasked with designing spacecraft, launching them and controlling them through launch, orbit, whatever you'd like to do while in space, reentry and landing.

The physics simulation is quite good and its certainly not an easy game. Most of my early rockets either flew apart or careened out of control. Learning how thrust to handle fuel supply, thrust to weight, attitude control, staging and the rest work is a really interesting challenge. Aside from a tutorial mission I haven't yet made orbit.

Right now the game is at version 0.2 beta and is built as a sandbox. They are currently developing the career mode but I'm having tons of fun just messing around. Also, the game has a great sense of humour. Your little green Kerbal astronauts react to what you're doing in flight. They will stare out in wonder, act excited or cringe in terror.

Since it's a sandbox, people have gone a bit crazy establishing bases on other worlds, someone even built a flyable Death Star out of metal panels. This game is up the alley of a lot of us here I'm certain.

It's got that Civilization air about it. The whole "one more turn" thing. Before I knew it last night it was almost 2am and I had to rip myself away!

Made orbit last night and successfully re-entered! Bill and Bob seem a bit concerned. Jebadiah is having a blast!

How do you jettison a stage? I make it to orbit but I can't seperate the stages

You need to insert stack separators between your stages. For every separator you insert, the option to fire it will appear in your staging list.
