Just watched the first episode and it was not as bad as I feared it would be. Certainly nowhere near as good as the new British series but I still quite enjoyed it. I like Aidan Quinn as the American version of Lestrade. While im not really looking forward to the inevitable love connection between Holmes and "Joan" Watson, I intend to keep watching for the time being anyway. Anyone else?

Yes caught the first episode and enjoyed this take on Sherlock Holmes.

Elementary picked up for a full season! I've been really enjoying it but can't wait for the BC version to come back. This show is fun enough in the meantime.

Pilot is free on iTunes, and you can watch the latest episode on CBS website free. The rest so far has no arc that you need to keep up on, each episode is one and done, so if you're not watching this you can start now and not miss much. You all should give it a try, it's fun!

I tried watching, but just couldn't get enthused. I have been re-watching the Jeremy Brent series with my wife and kids (10 & 11).

Me too! The characters have really grown on me, and I am looking forward to this developing into a show where there's an ongoing story arc or over-arching meta plot to follow along with. I'll be less interested if it remains a simple procedural as the series goes on.
