Yeah but he had to have found the original tweet amusing and reveled that he wasn't in love with the movie. He wouldn't have retweeted it had he been proud of the film.

I don't think Brent would ever say that. He was intimately involved with the script and production of that film. I'd wager he felt the criticism levied at Nemesis was unjustified. As do I. I loved it.

I agree with you Joby.. I think Brent RT as a joke.. or a OMG.. look what someone said about Nemesis.
And just to clarify that is really Brent Spiner's twitter account. I had asked Wil when we were filming The Guild.. at the time he said Brent and Lavar were real.
The ONLY way to know if its official is if the website that it links to links back to the Twitter account. Anything else is pure hearsay.
Its also why I don't follow any "pro" actors on Twitter. Its just a little too....hard to check.

Well, there WERE some bad parts to Nemesis. (specifically, a certain gaping plot hole or five with regard to Spiner's character)
It wasn't ALL bad, but there were enough bad parts to make Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace look tame in comparison.
Only saving grace of that movie: The briefest of appearances by Riker and Troi.

Perhaps that cast really was too big.
I saw Nemesis twice, back to back the day it released in theaters, once or twice when it came on Showtime, then twice again when the special edition DVD came out, for the commentary track.
One thing I didn't like about the movie was when Worf jumped and squealed like a little girl when the robotic hand popped out of the sand and grabbed his leg. Didn't feel very warrior-like to me. And not to rehash something that has been talked to death, but I really think that they could have come up with a way to keep Data around instead of killing him off. A simple "aging" program installed with the explanation that it would make Data's close friends more comfortable to see him age normally along with them would have been enough to make me believe it.
I do believe that this account belongs to the real Brent Spiner. Because Wil Wheaton says so on his blog, and I trust him.
Don't forget Brent Spiner is a comedian, and his humor is described by some as blunt, dark and sarcastic.
He isn't on twitter to promote himself so you don't have the usual filtered banal and unoffensive things a press agency would publish, he's obviously there because he has fun to interact with (the darker side of) his audience and likes to reflect the worst things he receives back.
Don't take it seriously, and if you don't share his sense of humor don't read it.
If you don't know what I mean watch this, I think his appearance corresponds well with his tweets (I bet Spiner was asked the same question about how they reattached "his" head by some fans):

One last thing about Nemesis: A review recently opened my eyes, it does rip off the story of Wrath of Khan. And some elements from Insurrection. Bad writing is bad.
Spiner probably got lots of comments about this film and he probably noticed it wasn't a very good film. Why should he deny this?
I highly recommend the review of RedLetterMedia, it's really good, but he reviews in character, and this character is very dark, might not be your taste. (He reviews the TNG films and the Star Wars prequels, and they made me aware of some things I didn't notice on a conscious levels. It's just great when he asks some people about the characters of the prequels, another highlight is my opinion the analysis of the "making of" footage from the prequels.)

It's easier to understand some of his running gags and the back story of his character when you start with Generations, that was only a three parter. Hope you like it?
I really liked the Phantom Menace one, although the weird flashes of images where you're supposed to find humor in kidnapping and abusing women is absolutely sure to bother some of the folks here. While I found that part uneccessary, I could see he was just trying (failing) at being funny. As weird as those parts are, his insight and humor about the movie itself makes the Phantom Menace review really worth watching. Looking forward to checking out the Star Trek ones, and I see he just did an Attack of the Clones 9 parter.
I agree, the kidnapping and abusing women parts is something I tend to skip when I re-watch it. It's just not that interesting but fits his made-up character.
If you want you can read some media critique in it?

I think I finally got it, it should have been obvious. Did you know Brent Spiner is a Jew? I didn't, but him being a comedian should have been my first clue. It's Jewish humor, "verbal, self-deprecating and often anecdotal humour", or at least heavily influenced by it.
