I thought that too but did some research on it. Chicago is the Windy City, not because of the amount of wind it has. It's actually less than a lot of places. They don't know the exact reason for the name. One theory that it's the Windy City because the politicians back in the day had a habit of talking forever. Another is because people from Chicago like to brag alot and were basically blowing (hot) Air.
