In 2004 there was a proposed outline for a Star Trek 'B Universe' reboot by JMS and Bryce Zabel.
Except for Scotty being recast as a woman, the current Trek 2.0 appears to be on course.

Now that the original crew are back as described, could this 'quest' be the next movie that starts the 5 year mission??
