Still think this might be a bomb for Marvel. I know die-hard comic fans will go see it and probably love it but I think this is going to a hard sell to the general movie going public. I could be wrong though and so we just have to wait and see. I work with 90% young people below age 30 and only a couple have shown any interest and those guys are hardcore comic freaks.

Hardcore comic freaks and don't want to see a Marvel movie?  Don't sound very hardcore to me.  Actually I think this movie will be a very easy sell to the general public due to Paul Rudd and some of the humor.  It won't be a bomb.

You misread my post Rico. I said only a couple were interested and they ARE hardcore comic freaks. The movie that all the younger folks are itching to see is Jurassic Park. Nobody is talking about Ant Man except on sites like this where the members do not represent the average public but mostly a niche market.

No, I didn't misread your post.  Hardcore comic freaks will go see this movie.  Sure, not all of them of course.  Time will tell what happens, but I'd never bet against Marvel making good money off a comic book movie these days.  Plus Jurassic Park is June.  This won't be out until July and they will need something new to see by then.

I'll see it only for the reason that I can't remember the last time I've been interested in over 10 summer releases.   Like Rico said time will tell.  We watched seventh son the other night.  I had high hopes but it was a complete dog.  I,Frankenstein got terrible reviews but I liked it.  Go figure.

"Seventh Son" had some cool stuff, but definitely not a real memorable movie.  Again, I still think this movie could be a lot of fun, like "Guardians..." was last summer.

Very well done movie that the wife and both enjoyed. You also NEED to stay for all the credits because there is a clip after the credits. Also a couple of questions.
[spoiler][/1. at the end of the movie what did he say ok about. Totally missed that for some reason. 2. Also who was that with the 2 Avengers after the credit clip?spoiler]

Not reading spoilers till I see this...wondering what's the story with the Wasp, if she is as old as Hank Pym...I'm sure they cover her story but haven't seen anything about it yet.

The more I think about this movie, the more I really like it. Maybe what draws me to this, is that Ant-Man (or maybe Paul Rudd) is sort of an everyman, in the movie and real life. The majority of other super heroes, are all these really big good looking guys (or Gals). I know that Steve Rogers was just a small guy, with a big heart until transformed into Captain America, but still Chris Evans is a big strong guy in real life. I guess to me, Paul Rudd, sort of comes across, like anyone of us could be a super hero. Maybe that is silly for a guy in his mid 40's to say, but something about his character just resonated with me.
This movie had a lot of great things in it, it might not have been a special effects extravaganza like in some of the other Marvel movies, but this held me the whole way through. The extra scenes at the end of the movie are definitely worth hanging around, to the point that they are pretty much mandatory to get the whole affect of the movie.

I saw it today and liked it a lot.  i'm with you Jeff - this is a hero you can easily identify with.  The movie is fun, has some nice heart to it, a great cast, with some cool action.  Made me want to see a sequel right now!  I'm really enjoying this summer movie season so far!

Also, if you go see this make sure to stay until the very end of the credits.  There are TWO extra scenes in the credits.

Go see "Ant-Man" if you haven't and don't want to see the F4 movie.  "Ant-Man" hit $300 million worldwide and is a lot of fun.
