Well, here's another fan film being made by professionals. This time Richard Hatch, Michael Hogan, J.G. Hetzler and even Gary Graham reprising his role of Soval. Supposed to tell the story of the fabled Klingon battle of Axanar. They launched a kickstarter campaign and so if you are interested in helping fund the effort here is the linK:

Sounds like an interesting concept and they have some good actors involved.

This has been in the works for quite a long time. I've seen booths at cons several times for the project. I say - bring it on! The more the better!
This is an interesting approach to a fan film.
The producer Alec Peters describes Prelude to Axanar as an interview style documentary in which the characters of the story recount the events of the battle.
So if this project is successful then the feature film will eventually be made.
- With another drive and maybe bigger investors.
Trailer out. Looks great!

Real actors, great graphics - impressive! :)
That does look pretty good!
Short, 20 min. version of this film out now and a new Kickstarter campaign. Pretty cool stuff!

Yeah, the 20 minute video made me a believer and a backer too.
The Enterprise references are cool and so is seeing more of Garth.
This story is what I was hopping for in 2009.. better late than never! :)
I'm so in....:cheers
During their second podcast it's mentioned this maybe the first of many films.

That 20 minute video might be the best Trek in years!
Yeah, it's pretty cool. For some reason I'm having a little trouble with Richard Hatch as the Klingon. He doesn't seem gruff and tough enough. Not terrible, just something missing.
WOW... I'm impressed!

People are saying this is the next Trek series CBS should do.
It looks like the biggest problem with it is that it is going to be a lot better than the last two Trek films and I haven't even seen Into Darkness. LOL
pretty cool!
I like the concept a lot and thought the documentary style was well done. The special effects I thought were pretty cheap looking compared to some of the other fan films like Phase II. I would have thought with the kind of budget they had the special effects would have been TV quality at minimum. I guess they were good enough to move the story along though. I'll be waiting to see the finished project.

Star Trek: Axanar is now simply Axanar.
They dropped the Trek reference in anticipation of diversifying with this production.
This Axanar podcast #13 features guest John Iacovelli.
John shares his thoughts on Star Trek set design, his past on B5 and his future with Axanar.
