Title: A guy made a phaser
Post by: alanp on April 27, 2012, 06:21:21 PM
A guy made a TOS phasor with a blue ray laser, that can pop a balloon.

I think a nice project might be constructing a TNG/DSN era phaser.  Anyone know a good toy/replica for either a TOS or TNG base before installing the laser?

I hope this hasn't been posted here before.  I didn't see it!

I totally should try this.  And maybe hacking a toy communicator with parts from a GSM razor phone.

Battery powered?

No electrical cord was visible.

Here is the wiring schematic, not including the bluray laser:

That's very cool!  Too bad you can't heat rocks with it. :)

The Art Asylum phaser might work.  I think they are doing a new run of them in the fall, but here's what they look like.

Dang, should have known it was powered by a Flux Capacitor!
