I'm there.
Go Joe! Looks like a blast!
Great trailer! I will be at the theater for this!!!
Wow.. .looks pretty cool.. I really enjoyed the first movie and this one looks like it takes the story in a completely new direction.
Well, hopefully it's better than the first - total waste of money that first one. One of the worst movies...
So, maybe the title, Retaliation, refers to the fans getting even with the filmmakers? :)

I don't know why you keep bashing the first one.. I enjoyed it. I thought it was a fun action/SFX popcorn kind of movie.
First one was a boring action movie. They revealed most of it through commercials and there just wasn't anything to wow me.
Hopefully this one will be better, but I'm not seeing it in theaters.

Because I thought it was crap. I could ask the opposite question: I don't know why you defend it. I thought it was crap :)

I agree. I pretty much got out of it what I expected, and had fun. Didn't expect Oscar-winning performances, it's called Rise of Cobra for crying out loud! :P

Who cares what it was called? Just because they name a movie something silly, are we to expect to pay money for crap? I think the movie was plain and simple crap. And if this thread was intended to only promote the movie and no negative opinions allowed, then perhaps that should have been stated in the initial post?

Wow.. okay.. you think it's crap.. gotcha!!
Well, you did ask him why he was bashing it. It's ok for people to not like something. There have been plenty of movies and TV shows recommended here I have loathed. No big deal, we all have our thing. :)
I have a day off finally and having finally turned back on my Netflix I watched the first one on streaming today. Frankly I have to agree with Al. All I can say is I will not be going to see the second in theaters. It's not worth it to me. Maybe streaming or netflix rental eventually, but I kinda could careless.
I like a good chunk of the first film, but felt it went a bit overboard in parts, especially towards the end. I'm not a big GI Joe fan or expert, so I didn't know really what to expect. But this next one looks like fun. Although I am getting a bit tired of the common movie trope of "they set us all up and now we have to get payback." How many times have we seen that idea?
Last I checked we could not like movies...

Looking forward to this one, looks like a great role for the Rock. Looks like it will be a lot of Action, so should be fun. I appreciate a good story as well, but sometimes a wild action movie from start to stop is good as well. My biggest complaint in the first one, was that revealed far to much in the trailers, so when I saw it, everything was pretty much expected.
New pic out...
Saw the trailer last night. I can't wait!
G.I. Joe Retaliation: The Other Expendables.
Cmon, I couldn't be the only one who thought that =\

I really enjoyed the first movie and this one looks just as fun.
This looks AWESOME!!!!! I didn't mind the first one, but this looks WAY BETTER!!!!
New trailer with mainly new footage. It just looks like a lot of fun!

WOW - this is a shock! They are moving this movie to be released next March to add 3-D! Pretty late in the game to be doing this. And of course, I think it's a mistake. Not just for the 3-D addition, but this movie screams summer popcorn flick.
EXCLUSIVE: The sequel G.I. Joe: Retaliation was supposed to come out this summer on June 29th. But I've learned that Paramount is moving the movie nine months to March 29, 2013, to add 3D. "We're going to do a conscientious 3D job because we've seen how it can better box office internationally," one of the studio execs just told me. "Jim Cameron did all of Titanic's 3D in post – and look how well that movie turned out." Paramount has had luck delaying films before: its decision to move Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island gave the director his biggest box office hit ever. And right now, 3D is huge internationally, with Russia and China building new 3D theaters by the week. Also the execs say that the blockbuster performance of The Hunger Games shows that March can be a prime time of the year to release movies. Of course, Paramount had to talk its partners on GI Joe 2 into the extra nine months of carrying costs – MGM which has 25%, and David Ellison's Skydance which has another 25%. The $125M-budgeted actioner stars Channing Tatum, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, and Bruce Willis and is directed by Jon Chu.

I hope it means that the special effects will be improved then because I was not too impressed with what I saw in the theater preview. I enjoyed the first film more than others but I had low expectations coming into it. Now my expectations are higher for the sequel and I hope they don't disappoint. If this was Star Trek I would be a little miffed but GI Joe? eh!

A bit of a shock. I think maybe with Battleship not doing well, Paramount and Hasbro probably wanted to push this off until later, and hope that 3D will get people excited. I was looking forward to seeing this, but like Kevin Mentioned, I certainly can wait.
I just find it interesting that they waited until about a month from release to push the date and make this change. Lots of ad's and trailers listing the June release date were kind of a waste now for them. It will be interesting to see how well this does next March when it comes out.
It's definitely an interesting turn of events. I'm sure this happens more then I realize but it does seem strange that they would push it so close to release.
When I saw this I was thinking of why they would do a move like that. I think it could do with Spiderman coming out the following week. As well as The Avengers did maybe they got cold feet. The 3-D thing could just be a good reason to have to make the move. Just my 2 cents.
Oh, yeah, and Abraham Linclon: Vampire Killer comes out the week before! Just kidding about that one.
I wonder if the release is just being put back in just the States or world wide? I just saw a trailer for the movie before seeing Men In Black 3 this afternoon!?

I really don't think they would wait 9 months between an overseas release and releasing it over here. The pirates would have a field day with that!

Has anyone else seen G.I. Joe: Retaliation yet? I was going to comment on it, but just in case I will hold off a little. One thing, without giving any of the plot away it that I didn't find it as enjoyable as the first movie. :)

I saw it with Mark today. It was ok. Some fun stuff in it. But I agree, I don't think I enjoyed it as much as the first one.

It doesn't seem to have taken as much as the first movie! What it is about Hollywood this year
two movies have London destroyed twice, this one and the new Star Trek! Hollywood, leave London alone!! lol
I did find it a bit draggy abit in the middle...tempted to go and buy a cola to keep awake! lol
I saw it today with my wife. It was alright, lots of action which was good. I had a tough time deciding who was the major villain though, and really wanted Cobra Commander to have a larger role.
I also found it odd that Storm Shadow was with the Joe's one scene, and then the next he was with Cobra. Since he was kidnapped by the Joe's, I am not sure how he would have explained his presence to Cobra Commander.
I saw this yesterday.. it was fun.. exactly what I expected.. a fun, action packed, entertaining ride.
Just watched this on Blu-Ray from Netflix yesterday and I enjoyed it but the first one was better. I watched an extra on the Blu-ray that said they wanted to make it more based on reality instead of the Sci-fi elements. Well they certainly did that and I admit I missed the more sci-fi parts. Liked all the characters they used but would have liked to see more from the first film.
G.I. Joe: Retaliation - 7.
The blowing up London was pretty wild. What an effect and a little scary really.
