Title: Bag of Bones - A & E two part movie
Post by: Jobydrone on December 05, 2011, 01:36:35 PM
Bag of Bones, based on the bestselling Stephen King thriller from 1998 is scheduled to debut this Sunday, 12/11 on the A&E channel and concludes the next night.  The book was a very creepy haunted house tale that I remember really enjoying.  It's directed by long time Stephen King collaborator Mick Garris, who is responsible for the TV adaptations of King's novels Desperation, the Shining, and the Stand.

I'm really looking forward to this.

From the thread title, this looks like a hospital based story. I was really confused as to why it was here!

(A&E, short for Accident and Emergency, is the British name for what I think you US guys call the Emergency Room)

Ha, here in the US many people have the A&E cable station, Arts and Entertainment.  It's pretty much known for running CSI and Law and Order reruns 24/7 I think.

I think I will have to watch this, as I have seen so many commercials for it well watching Storage Wars, I feel I have already watched it  ;D

Storage Wars, I wish I could say I don't watch it... but I can't.  I'm excited for this King series even though I never really cared for the book, it was one of his misses I thought, but as we all know they are just as likely to wreck a good story as they are to fix a bad one.  Here's hoping it's more Shawshank Redemption and less Dreamcatcher.

Did anyone wind up watching this?  Utter cheese.  Don't bother, read the book and try to forget this exists.  I was really hoping the days of low production value Stephen King adaptations were a thing of the past, but alas this was one of the worst ever.  I feel sorry for Pierce Brosnan, there was simply no way he could have done anything with the ridiculous script he was given to work with.  He chewed the scenery admirably, though.  If there's an award for over-acting he should win it for this performance for sure.
