Title: The Dawn of the Space Race.
Post by: Redshirt97 on October 07, 2011, 06:59:46 PM

HI all to the form.  This month marks the 54th anniversary of the Space Race between the US and Russia.  This started with the lunch of Sputnik in 1957.  I have always been interstred in the early years of the space program.  What are you thoughts about the race to the moon?

i always wondered why it had to be a race at all. couldn't we all just work together? like a giant federation?
maybe the larger and more diverse the team is, the harder it is to work together. hmm.

The space race and the race to the moon was cold war politics period.  The politicens were only conced about what the  Russians could do with the tech they created and what threat that could have made.  they really were not that concerned about exploring the mestries of the universe.

Yes i suppose it does Tutttleshock.  I am more interested in the history of the tech and how it has evolved over the years to what we have now in the space program.
