Title: Why Jeff Jobb is an Awesome Friend
Post by: Jen on September 28, 2011, 12:15:26 PM
I just wanted to say publicly how much I appreciate Jeff Jobb, AKA Jedi Jeff: fellow Trek SF member. He is such a generous person. He's been helping Angela and I with the back end of our web site for several months now. We can't pay him, but we definitely did NOT want to take advantage of his generosity. So in exchange I created a few podcast logos and podcast cover art for him in trade and I've offered to voiceover for his shows... but he has never asked for anything in exchange for his time or coding skills. Never.

As I've probably said way too often, I'm a designer. I worked in the web industry as a design director  for seven years and in corporate marketing as web/print designer for 6 and in between that I have freelanced... but I only know just enough HTML and AS knowledge to get by and I have absolutely zero PHP or CSS skills. I always team up with coders. Frankly, I don't want to know how to code. Designing is what I do best and I'd rather leave the PHP etc to the masters.  Without Jeff's help, we would not have been able to hack the the template I redesigned. That and we would have had trouble with the redirect and codes he made for our new feed address. We moved our site to Libsyn (we're burning it through feedburner this time) and our web site is now with AN Hosting. Anomaly is waiting for iTunes to update the episodes it is listing as well as graphics and podcast descriptions, but the ratings and comments collected for years should remain there. So far it's still reflecting the old feed, which doesn't exist anymore, but it should change in a couple of days. Anyway, y'all already know this about Jeff but I wanted to give him a huge Anomaly shout out. Jedi Jeff is the Master of Awesome...he is kind and generous and most importantly a great friend. Thank you Jeff. Angela and I really do appreciate everything you've done for us.   :cheering  :cheers  :metallica:

Jeff helps me as well and I count him as a great friend.   I can't wait to get together with him again.  We had such a great time when he was down.  He and his wife are awesome people.  What a blessing!   It helps that we are fellow nerds.   I often bump my song ideas off him because he loves music so much.

That's really awesome and again it's what makes the people here so special.  I love it when people can help each other and pass on their assistance with things they are good at.  Anyway, thanks Jen for posting that and a big thanks to Jeff as well.  :)

Thanks Jen for the very kind words, makes me blush a bit. It has been a real honor to be able to work on your site. It has helped me also immensely as I learned so much over the past few months learn more about word press, php and css.

Thanks to the rest of you as well for the nice words.
