If you know nothing about it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Person_of_Interest_%28TV_series%29 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Person_of_Interest_%28TV_series%29)
So this aired last night and I'd just gotten home from the gym so good timing to sit down and watch something. Also I'd just heard about it earlier yesterday in the recent Treksf. Personally I thought it was enjoyable. I liked it. It's a cool idea. It was just that. I thought Reese was a little unreal as a character to be honest. So meh would be my rating.
Also...
At the beginning after he beat up the guys in the subway and the cop was say all the stuff about you much be special ops for those kinda moves, I was just like seriously? A little sloppy Muay Thai and Krav Maga, yeah that's special.
I thought it was a cool twist later when they revealed that the lady was actually the bad guy there. To give it some credit.
I liked Mr. Finch, and Michael Emerson I felt did a great job with his role. The concept of all these things watching and listening to people and predicting is really cool. I hope the show finds it's feet a bit, cause it hasn't grabbed me yet, but I'll watch more.
I liked the first episode too. Almost getting my Jack Bauer type fix back with this Reese guy. I liked "Ben" or Mr. Finch quite a bit too. Very cool concept for a series. I'll keep watching.
I liked this show also. Took me to about the opening credits to warm up to it, as I found Jim Caviezel's character Reese at the start a bit hard to get a grasp on. I liked Michael Emersons character Mr Finch also, sort of nice to see some of the qualities of Ben from Lost, but without the evil side.
About mid way through the episode I sort of got the idea that the story would have a twist, so was not really surprised top find out the Lady was actually the bad person. That group of Thugs that Reese keeps on running into, would be funny if they are somewhat reoccurring characters, as I like watching him beat up on them.
I had trouble with Reese through out the whole episode. I liked more the idea of him, but I don't know if it was script or acting, but he was just so cardboard cut out to me of the typical depressed special ops character. Hopefully we will get more depth on him and also less depression vibes. I'm tired of depressed characters with no other good defining feature for their attitude.
Like I said before Mr. Finch I liked a lot though. He really fit as a character and there was enough to understand him and why he is doing the things he is.
I thought this second episode was a lot better. I was a little iffy on the pilot, but this one tells me I think this show is gonna do ok.
Reese is a lot more believable to me. I like his character better, he's not so stereotypically depressive and suddenly action man like in the first one. I thought it was a good plot too with the girl. It was kinda simple, but I think that's good for a show just starting out and sometimes a basic idea can be very good. I like how we're getting little bit more information about who Mr. Finch really is. The scene at his cubical I think said a lot about him and how he feels about the machine he's created without saying to much. I thought there was some great character development with him. Some really awesome subtle stuff.
Well I hope this show continues like this in episode 3, but I think it's off to a great start after this episode.
I watched the second episode of this tonight. I am really liking this show, to me it has a lot of potential. Reese really shook off his duldrums and was full of a lot of energy in this one.
I have this dvr'd. I'm hoping to watch sometime this week

Yep, agreed. I'm liking this show by JJ and his team quite a bit. Nice mix of various elements. I'll keep watching.
This is an awesome show. Joyce and I are really liking it a lot, and it seems to have that JJ Abrams mystery undertone! :)
It's such a cool concept too. That alone had me interested. I'm glad to see Reese becoming a more connectable character too. I'm not jumping the gun to say it's awesome yet, but I think it has the potential to be.
It's the combination of a different take on a crime show and the great actors that pulled me in. I am fully into this show now and I think it certainly passes Rico's "3 show" test. I think it might be my favorite new show so far.
It reminds me a lot of Tru Calling. Very "here's the person you have to save, but you don't know the circumstances." Of course, it has a different tone, but I can't help but make that connection.
This show continues to get even better and more interesting with each episode. Loved the most recent episode with the kidnapped boy. Everyone should give this series a try. Great TV!
I agree Rico, I thought this past episode was the best yet. I really like the tandem of Reese and Finch, and how Finch is trying to keep his life a mystery.
I agree. I reall look forward to it. It's a mystery each week to unravel, and the ongoing underlying storyline is pretty darn cool. Pluse the main guy really kicks some butt. WOW. Wouldn't want to be on his bad side. I loved how a couple of episodes ago they left it hang at the end. Now we get to decide what happened. Very cool. Great show.
Hands down for me this is the best new show of the season. This past weeks episode was probably my favorite so far for the season. I really like the spy type stuff and had a bit of a Bond or Bourne feel to it.
I'm loving it as well, especially the mystery surrounding the main characters. What a great concept.
Recent episode was really good and this is a definite favorite of mine of the new shows this year. Great concept and well acted week after week.
Yep top 5 for me. Great acting and interesting stories.
I guess I'll need to keep an eye out for it over here. I'm running out of current stuff that I watch.
Favorite Line from the episode:
As Reese sights down a sniper rifle - Finch: What happens if you miss? Reese: I wouldn't know, I never miss
AWESOME!
Really great most recent episode of this cool series. This show is definitely helping to fill the Jack Bauer void these days on TV. Dramatic episode too. Plus it had Bridget Regan (Kahlan from Legend of the Seeker) in a guest spot. Great stuff!
The episode had an awesome ending and we are learning more about Reese all the time. Loved it!
Awesome show still. We are getting little hints into the 2 main characters pasts in amongst the main plot which is very intriguing!
Has this been given a full season?
WOW! This week's "Person of Interest" was fantastic! Really enjoyed the interplay between Reese and Finch. It was also great to see some more back story on "the machine." And next week's episode looks like things are changing a bit for our team. One of the coolest, and in a way, most believable series on TV.
agreed Rico, it was very very good. I love this show, very unique in it's approach.
Awesome couple of episodes recently for this show. The most recent one adding a new element and adversary for our team. Really loving this series and probably still my favorite new show of the year.
I agree Rico, this last Episode really hit a bit of a mark for me on emotional investment and tech. My Favorite new show of the season as well.
I like the introduction of someone to challenge Finch on the tech side of things, and a real mystery as well who that is. At first I thought it was Zoe, who appeared in the show, but then that was not her. Then I thought it was Detective Carter, and not her either, so not sure who it is.
I too really am enjoying this show. I look forward to it eah week?
I caught episode 5 of S1 on TV a couple of months ago and it really didn't grab me but then got the opportunity to go back to the beginning (don't ask how) and watch it all and I have to say I'm hooked.
There's something about this series that presses all of the wrong buttons and suggests to me that it really shouldn't do well and yet it's brilliant. We're only mid season 1 over here so I haven't got all the background that (I hope) is coming out now season 2 is airing but it's a fascinating and well executed premise. My one fear is that it will get cancelled before we find out exactly what's going on.
Don't worry Mike about this series ending too soon. The ratings have been solid and in my view the series just continues to get deeper and more interesting as it goes on. Season two so far over here has been even better than season one. We are getting a lot more background on the whole "machine" thing and on the characters. One of my current favorite series - also from the Abrams gang too.
yeah, I'm enjoying this season too!

S1E22
This one just aired over here and while I've seen it before it really is an excellent episode and demonstrates the level change they introduced at the end of this thing.
Apparently this was supposed to be the original season finale but once they got renewed, JJ and team went back to the network and requested an extra episode to close the season with a bit more of a bang. Boy did they succeed!
I'm looking forward to watching it again next week.
Watching the finale again was a valuable exercise (post watching the first half of season 2) since looking at it with new eyes revealed a good few pointers as to what was to come that I'd simply missed the first time around, even though they were pretty obvious.
We get season 2 later in the year apparently so I'll probably re-watch that when it becomes available on broadcast.
If I haven't said it before in this thread I'll say it now, this is pretty much my top show of the moment. (Though there is some question over its Sci-Fi credibility - is it really fiction? ;))
WOW! The first episode of season three was great! I love how the whole "gang" is working more together. This is still a great series with an awesome premise.
Still waiting for Season 2 to air over here (ignoring the fact that I might have seen it already...). It may be due this month, apparently, but that means season 3 is probably at least a year away.
I'm glad it's good...
Wow...no season two yet for you. That is slow!

Back to the bad old days!
It may be because this is run by one of the terrestrial channels but their lateness with stuff is generally because a sattelite channel has first run rights and that's not the case here.
Well, this is an old thread!
Season 3 hits over here on Monday.
I'm still watching it. This season four here has been kind of a mixed bag. Some really great stuff and some kind of forgettable episodes I think.
