I actually have this statue in a more rare version with her in the reddish outfit she wore at times on Voyager.

I myself just recently started getting into the more higher end side of collectibles.. most notably from sideshow and gentle giant.

Is it just me or are people on that one actually bidding against themselves a few times?

On eBay you can set a Max. Bid.  If someone else makes a bid, the eBay system will simply bump your bid to be slightly above the other bid.  And in this case, it will appear like you just bumped your own previous bid.  I think the only time a new bid pops in is if it exceeds the max. bid you have set.

Will be interesting to see if that one sells or not. The person is not a power seller and is not in North America, so might be much harder to sell at the higher price.

This is the dilemma. I used to collect various things and there is always that temptation to sell at a good price. Actually I'd love to do this a little, it's part of the fun.

I've hardly ever sold off anything over the years.  I've never been in it for any possible profit.  But this one is tempting.

I simply can't imagine spending that much money on a statue. Maybe I'd pay that for a dinner with 7 of 9....
