Anyone heading down to Atlanta this year for Dragon*Con? This will be my second year, and I'm thinking about making this my standard annual con and saving up for an "eternal membership". I ran into some people from the Anomaly community simply by chance at last year's D*C, which was pretty awesome. Anyone planing to go? Thinking about it?
Also, I'm planning to do a Skypecast post-con for Anomaly Supplemental. Anyone's welcome to join in to talk D*C, just shoot me a PM, and I'll add you to the planning list. :)
:cheers
So it's only the two of us from this community that go to Dragon*Con?

Maybe. Many of us here tend to go to cons fairly near us - geographically. Cheaper and easier that way. But I would like to get down to D-Con someday.

I greatly enjoy my local cons as well. I save up all year so I can afford the trip down to Atlanta from the Boston area.
I spent a couple of years seriously considering going but wasn't sure because of the added costs of travel and not knowing anyone but once I went I realized I was home and the community was wonderful. Nothing like the energy of being around 40,000+ of your closet friends and talking genre shows, movies and books for four full days from 10am until well past midnight. :)

I guess we are, Kevin.
Perhaps I'm odd, but I've never really thought about going to local cons (other than Star Trek Creation cons back in the day). But D*C and WorldCon stayed on my radar. I'm going to NYCC for the first time this year. I never made it to Arisia when I lived in Boston (oops), nor have I made it to Philcon or Lunacon.
