The new Skype call podcast is up now covering most of the genre summers movies that have come out so far. Really fun chatting with: Kenny, Meds, Dan, Rick Peete, and Rick & Amy Moyer about all the cool films we have seen - and a few other topics. Thanks a lot to those that had time to join in for this one and enjoy the cast folks!

Anyone listen yet? I thought this cast was a lot of fun and we covered quite a bit too.
Listened this morning, it was a really fun chat. loved the Harry Potter reviews. Despite all the great movie talk though, my favourite part was the "inside baseball" podcast talk. It's interesting to see how many shows have spawned out of TrekSF.
I keep meaning to get myself in line for another guest 'cast :)
Joe - we definitely need another "BillyBob cast soon!"
I had a great time listening to all your comments. I wish I was more tech savvy. I had a job interview through Skype about a year ago and we had technical difficulties so I'm a bit Skype shy. Anyway had I been on the skype chat, I know I would have divulged too much about Harry Potter. It was great to hear everyone add their two cents in. That was also the only movie I've seen this summer. All the other ones I'll have to wait and see through Netflix. I used to go to movies all the time but 1) I don't have the money and 2) I hate going to the movies by myself. I ended up treating my friends so that they would go with me. They told me that they would go as long as I didn't talk through the movie. I was good but I did react at times. The audience was funny. They cheered during some of the fight scenes and of course we all applauded at the end. I was quite happy with most of it. I was somewhat disappointed with a few scenes but overall very impressed that they were able to put in what they could from the book. I was really happy that a lot of the dialogue came directly from the book.
If you haven't heard them on cd, I highly recommend listening to the Jim Dale readings. He's amazing and does all the voices. It's like he's performing it. They're all unabridged so you don't miss a thing!
Hoping to go and see it again!
It was great to hear all your voices!
All the best!

PS. How do I use the Spoiler button?

PS. How do I use the Spoiler button?
ok so when you are replying above the top row of smileys there is a symbol that looks like a black and yellow circle.
click on that, and then something like this will pop up: [spoi|er][/spoi|er]. type what you want to say right between the ] and the [ in the middle.
hope that helped! :)
So you start with the spoiler icon and you end with the spoiler icon?
Cool Thanks!
I listened this morning through breakfast and the first part of the work day. Fun chat and you didn't give too much away - I've seen no films this year and HP is about the only one that's lined up at the moment.
Great podcast, and listened to it on my lunch break today at work.
I must comment on the Harry Potter comments. I have never read the books, and didn't know how it all ended until I saw the movie on Saturday. I must be in the minority, as
I did not enjoy the part set 19 years in the future!
I know it was in the book, thanks to a friend of mine telling me, but I found it so twee!
I hope I change my mind when it the movie becomes available to purchase for home!
My additional thoughts about HP:
For the most part I loved the movies but I've always had a hard time with Michael Gambon playing Dumbledore. I know that they needed to replace Richard Harris because he died (Damn you for dying!!!) LOL! Oh well. Michael Gambon, I thought came off a bit harsh at times and I always felt that Dumbledore was like the Richard Harris Dumbledore and even the Jim Dale performed Dumbledore. Whenever I see Michael Gambon in a movie he's always been the heavy or really not very nice. I did like him in Order of the Phoenix but other than that I was always a bit eh about him. I thought, why couldn't Patrick Stewart play Dumbledore. Of course it would have been funny to see Patrick Stewart with hair and a long beard.
All the other characters were perfectly casted. When HP 2 came out, I thought it was perfect casting Kenneth Branagh as Lockhart. They both have such large egos.
Ok the real spoiler! I loved how they portrayed Snape in this movie. I love Snape. I love Alan Rickman. I just felt for his character when he was holding Lily as she was already dead with Harry as a baby looking on. They did more with Snape in the movie than they did with him in the book. I really liked how they didn't rush his story at all. I also loved how they altered his appearance over the years. I liked how he had one touch of tenderness for Harry in the movie telling him that he has his mother's eyes. Snape was so much crueler in the book than in the movie. I always thought that Snape in the book was really cold. Alan Rickman brought such a warmth to the character.
I was a bit disappointed with the ending. Of course I'm so picky because of how they ended it in the book. But I thought it was a little weak. In the book, everyone is celebrating and hugging Harry. It was just so somber in the movie. I understand why they did it that way but it was disappointing to me. Why did they have Harry break the wand? In the book he goes back to Dumbledore's office and repairs his wand and gives it back. Also, where was Grawpee? Wasn't he supposed to be fighting with Hogwarts?
I was also a bit disappointed with the whole Aberforth scene. There was a bit left out there. Also Harry was supposed to share with them about Dumbledore's pain from when he drank the potion from Half Blood Prince and how Ariana had died. I guess you just have to read the book but I felt that scene was a bit lacking. I know that Ciaran Hinds was playing Aberforth but he was barely recognizable under all that make up. He looked so different. And where was his goat patronus? That would have been great to see.
I loved that for the most part they were able to get most of the book into the movie. I know that they had to drop some things and change some things. The 19 years later ending was good. I'm really glad that they put that in there. There is even a bit more that happens in the book there. It would have been nice to have everyone staring at Harry and then having Ron say the line that they're all really staring at him (Ron) because he's so famous.
Hope my spoiler button worked this time. :o
It did yay!
Rico! Don't see HP in 3D! At least see Transformers, if you can sit through it again, in 3D. Go native 3D or not at all.
