Title: Eye-FI Wireless SDHC cards for cameras
Post by: iceman on June 15, 2011, 04:52:57 AM
I don't know if you guys and gals have seen these, but they are really great cards. Once the software is installed and the card is set up on your network they will wirelessly transmit your photos and videos to your laptop, with out having to take your SD card out of your camera.

They are great for photos, but I would not use them for video, I got my for gig on sale for 22.00 dollars including tax reg price 69.99 and my 8 gig for 69.99 reg 149.99, so they are not cheap but work really well.

Technically from anywhere you have wifi access, but I read somewhere that they have to be approx no more then 100 ft from your computer as it gets registered to your computer network so it needs to be close enough to transmit. I have found that it will transmit from anywhere in the house, however there is a small lag time from when you take the picture and when it transmits.

If you are to far away from your computer, as soon as you are in range it will transmit your files.
