Ok, I knew this would happen. After getting the non-flash iPad I saw that the video's here don't show up because they are Flash. There is a string of code to get around this. I fixed the Youtube player on the main www.treksinscifi.com (http://www.treksinscifi.com) website, still working on getting things to embed better here. In the meantime, for the website guys here, this is what your code will need to look like. The top part of the code is the new stuff, the bottom is the usual site embed stuff from Youtube. Example below:
<script type-"text/javascript">
var agent=navigator.useragent.toLowerCase();
var use HTML5 = (agent.indexOf('iphone')!=-1 | | agent.indexOf('ipad')!=-1);
if (useHTML5) {
document.write("");
} else {
document.write("");
}
</script>
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZYTkSFRmKzM&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZYTkSFRmKzM&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344" wmode="transparent"></embed><param name="wmode" value="transparent" /></object>
On a related topic, you can use this plugin for Wordpress that will add the iFrame plugin to Wordpress to pull the HTML5 Youtube data.

I need to test this, but there is suppose to be ab extension for Safari here to make Youtube videos play in HTML5 (for you iPad and iPhone users of the forum).
Try getting the extension here for Safari:

Ignore the above post for Safari on the iPad. It seems you can't add extensions to the iPad Safari browser. Silly Apple....
Thanks for the Post Rico, interesting, will have to try it out, I wonder if it works for other flash apps besides the movies.
fast knitting. is code complicated? ???
The latest test video behaves exactly the same as any other YouTube video I've seen on the site via the iPhone / iPad, it redirects to the YouTube player and plays fine but there is no thumbnail in the thread.
What am I supposed to be see different?

ooh nice!
Going to be awhile to get things changed here too. The SMF forum and embed plugin make things a bit trickier.
