My first try at an audio blog post about downloadable content and games can be found here: http://bit.ly/fGdRVM (http://bit.ly/fGdRVM)
It is a round table discussion with some of my fellow game developers from around the studio talking about some issues surrounding downloadable content. It was for the #AltDevBlogADay project, and I know a few of you are gamers (and perhaps programmers?) so perhaps you might be interested.
I finished post-production of it last night after joining in with the Skype call. The post was due on the 12th but I ended up uploading it around 1am GMT on the 13th... but as it was still the 12th in the US I think that was alright. Time travel huh? :)
The TreksInSciFi podcast certainly acted as part inspiration for me attempting this. After having gone through the production cycle once I better appreciate how much time Rico and each of the contributors must sacrifice to produce the show I enjoy listening too every week. So thank you!
Should I attempt it again hopefully I'll be able to achieve a higher quality setup. Only had one microphone for the table on a desktop mic stand (though it was a pretty good one). Next time I'll try and get two for the round table, or try out the cheap boundary mic I brought - though I doubt that would be better then the spendier microphone Bryn brought in for us to use.
As far as software goes I will stick with legitimately free software like Audacity - I'm sure I will get better with that interface with usage.
If you feel you have any hints and podcasting tips please let me know.
Sounds very interesting. I'll check it out.
