Fictional movie based on a secret "final" Apollo mission. Looks pretty cool.
Apollo 18 - Official Trailer [HD] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0F6DU6gx7-w#ws)
There's a reason we never went back to the moon. cool.
Interesting. Looks like it is being marketed "Blair Witch" style.
Could be interesting!
Looks good!
I've been looking forward to this movie. Tim and I and my son Andrew went and saw it. NOTHING like I expected. For a Space Program lover like myself it rocked. I really liked it. It was like watching a documentary, but with a few surprises. Wow, that was really cool.
Most of us on this forum will probably enjoy the movie, again not at all what I expected.
I got that impression from the trailer as well, Rick!
I saw it this weekend and I enjoyed it. I think people who remember the Apollo program will really enjoy this movie.
Here's the website you guys mention on your audio review:

Thanks Rico. Man, the least they could have done was give us some type of content! LOL
I didn't know the movie was filmed in the style of 'Blair Witch' until I saw it last Sunday. I hated Blair Witch, and found this movie somewhat...boring! :(
Really? Boring? Wow, we were on the edge of our seat most of the movie.

I suppose my attitude to the movie was coloured by my dislike of Blair Witch. I am turned off by a movie that says at its beginning 'what follows is actual footage of the events,' or words to that extent. I had to get up at one point to buy a hot dog to stop myself from falling asleep...a really tasty one too!! :)

Wow. I really enjoyed it. I liked the way it looked. I remember the Apollo program. Whomever filmed this movie got it right.
A movie theater hot dog! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO........
Absolutely M-5, that is why I liked it so much. So reminded me of watching the old footage.
OK......I am headed out to the movie right now..... pretty excited about the flick! Agree with you RM i love the old Apollo footage.
Marko
ok.... so i head over to my local theater which is a 15 minute drive away, let me preface this story by saying i am from NJ but i have lived down here in coastal NC for the last eight years and i live on a coastal island so people tend to be on "ISLAND TIME" or do as they wish. I walk into the lobby and the girl kindly greets me..... i say one ticket to Apollo 18 please.....she motions over to another lady"they are the only two people there by the way. The other woman says did you wanna see Apollo 18, i say yes..... she puts her thumb and fore finger onto her nose and says in her southern accent that movie stunk so i am not playing it anymore today. My jaw dropped and i said but it says its playing at 7:30.... she says i know but i ain't playing it no more today .....holy @%i* she was the manager. So my friends she i even try and see it tomorrow?
Marko
It doesn't stink. Trust me on this one. :)

They refused to show the movie and take your hard earned cash. That's crazy!

You need a better theater IMO. If they said they were going to show it, than they show it. Sheesh.
King
Marko - that's a crazy story. I see a lot of movies out and have been in theaters with just a couple people. Never, ever have I been refused to see something they had listed as showing at a certain time. Wild.
Is the movie family friendly (10 & 9 year old)?
^^^
It's PG-13, but my nine year old daughter wouldn't be able to watch it.
I told a few of my friends what happened to me and they laughed.....typical here for sure, i am going to see it this afternoon and will let you know my thoughts on the film.
Marko
Unbelievable that a cinema can drop a film like that. If it's advertised they should show it. I've never know this happen over here. In fact I been in watching a film on my own a few times.
What a strange story. The cinema was open right? They were still paying the staff? Why not take your money? Weird!
Not strange where i live.... it's a coastal Island community in NC Kinda red-knecky (made up word ) I have gone to stores to make purchases and have seen signs in the window saying "Closed to lack of interest" The people are super nice and do not let anything bother them so being turned away at the theater would roll off their back :) I am heading on over there in a few to see the matinee i called ahead to make sure they were screening it :)
PS: Their staff consists of two teenage girls
Marko
Peter- probably rather intense for 9 and 10 year olds. I wouldn't take my kids if they were that age.
I just saw Apollo 18. i was the only person in the theater but that is not out of the norm. :-X.....OY
what did you think about it?
Rick
I really really wanted to like it, i went in open minded not listening to any of the reviews. I liked the old feel of the NASA moon footage and the dark creepiness of it all , but it fell short on the plot real short i thought. It was never explained as to why they went or how you hide a huge rocket being launched from the cape?? Hey its just a movie and i always can suspend belief i am not sure why this movie was made it was obvious they just pushed it out on a shoe string budget.... i don't wanna give out any spoilers so i will leave it at that. I can't give this one a thumbs up even as a lazy afternoon go see I'd wait for it on DVD or skip it altogether.
Marko
Wow... Well that's ok. We all like different stuff. Its no Star Trek, that is for sure. They did explain the launch, at least I thought I heard them say something about it. I guess I'm a sucker for off the wall non traditional media. I still enjoyed and would watch it again.
I would watch it again at home with friends for sure!

I hadn't seen any plot based trailers before seeing the movie. I knew the movie was out, and I probably go to the 'flicks' every weekend. There were 3 of us, and I'm afraid that all of us were somewhat disappointed. :(
I loved "Blair Witch." When it first came out that style of film making was very innovative. I still want to see "Apollo 18."
Finally saw this last night, super creepy and fun. I'd recommend it for sure.
I sure enkoyed it. is it out on video now?
Umm, don't think so. Soon though.
