Per Joby's suggestion, we are going to have an Oscar contest for this year. Basically, email me your predictions for the winners to the selected categories below. The person with the most correct winners picked will get a special prize pack (some actions figures, and other goodies). Your email needs to be sent prior to the start of the Academy Awards show on Feb. 27th. In the event of a tie, I will do a dice roll to pick the winner. Make sure to pick only one winner from each of the seven categories below.

Just sent my predictions. Fun!
I sent mine to the wrong place.
Did you send yours to the Oscars Chris lol ;)
Thanks for the entries so far guys. This should be fun!
Little reminder bump for this.
Sent mine end today. I'll watch the show a little closer now.
sent mine in just now
Just sent mine in.
I just shot mine over. :)
Cool! There's still a few days left until the telecast.
A few more days gang for the contest. I'm actually getting kind of excited for this years Oscars. One hitch though, I'm hoping I can watch it streaming online since after Saturday I won't have a TV at the apartment. I'm guessing it will stream live online too.
You need to find one of these babies :)
I do have a little TV like that back at home in Michigan. I suppose I could have Lynn bring it when we meet up on the west side of Michigan on Saturday, but I just don't want anymore stuff to worry about bringing back next week. I'm nearly certain the Oscars are streamed live online. Or JustinTV will have it.
Only about a day left to get your predictions in!
For those of us who want to watch the Oscars streaming live check this link out:

Well, here we go....

Natalie Portman - best actress (although Annette Bening might take it)
Christian Bale - best supporting actor
Melissa Leo - best supporting actress (not real sure on this one)
David Fincher - director for "The Social Network"
"Inception" - visual effects

i just love the oscars. great people, pretty outfits, it's the most wonderful award show (that i've seen, that is)
Well, seem to have lost all ways to view the awards online. But the little I saw I liked. The hosts seem to be doing well.
I think Anna is doing better than James. I have seen more James Franco movies than Anna's though.
James Franco is a dude.
Looks like I did pretty good with my predictions. I'll check the contest entries and post here soon who our winner is.
Looks like Kenny is the contest winner! He predicted ALL seven of the big awards I had listed for the contest correctly. Congrats Kenny! A couple others were very close too. Kenny, email me your address for your prize package.
Grats Kenny, I only missed one, Melissa Leo. I had picked Hailey Stienfeld for True Grit.
Yeah, you did good too Joby. I think this was a pretty easy year to predict. While I liked "The King's Speech", I still kind of wish "The Social Network" had won for best picture. But what I want to win rarely ever is picked.
Wow.. I won.. yay!!! And yes this was a pretty predictable Oscars.
I know most folks didn't enjoy it.. but I thought it was good.. I thought Anne did better then James..
but my favorite part was of course the Autotuned Harry Potter.
Harry Potter, Twilight, Toy Story 3, Social Network Autotune - Music : Academy Awards 2011 Oscars (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwhg17WLHlU#ws)
That whole autotune thing was awesome!
I actually like the Social Network autotune the best, it actually just sounded like a Justin Timberlake song :)
I thought The Fighter was overhyped and overrated. I'll grudgingly admit that the two winning performances were deserved and excellent, but the poor script and bone chillingly awful performance by Mark Wahlberg ruined the film for me.
I loved True Grit and Black Swan and really thought that either of those films were more deserved of Best Pic than King's Speech. While I enjoyed Social Network and found it a very interesting story I didn't think it fell into the realm of best movie of the year.
Still haven't seen Winter's Bone, but have heard great things. Gonna seek it out soon.
Congrats Kenny! I loved the autotune thing very much! Hilarious!
I haven't seen "The Fighter" yet. What sticks out for me in "The Social Network" is it was quite different than just about any movie I have seen before. In the way that mixed the story time frames, the characters, etc. The script was awesome and I liked the performances of the actors a lot. I've seen movies about fighters before, I've seen westerns before, I've seen historical period movies before. But I found "The Social Network" unique. "Black Swan" was also quite unique but I just enjoyed "The Social Network" more personally. I also think it's a movie very reflective of the time we live in. In any case, those are my thoughts on why I would have voted for "The Social Network" as best picture.
I think it's incredible that a movie about the creation of a website was a strong contender for best picture. It's defintiely reflective of the times in which we live.
As a web developer and web junkie in general I think it's just awesome.

Agreed! And it's really a great movie too. At least in my view. Have you seen it Joe? If not, check it out soon.
Yeah I saw it, loved it.
I liked the Social network too, for the same reasons. Amy didn't likeit. It was kind of sad in the end, and as I have stated earlier, if you have ever experienced being betrayed and hung out to dry, it evokes those emotions in you. But I guess that is what makes it good.
Congrats to Kenny. I didn't do very good with my picks. And I didn't see any of the best picture nominees except for Toy Story 3! So its no wonder my picks were bad. :ohwell I would like to see "The Fighter", "The Social Network", "True Grit" and maybe "Inception". I really don't care to see any of the other ones.
Some Trek celebs were at the Academy Awards and other events related to it. Here are a couple picks and click the link below to see more.

Oh My....... says George when Colin Firth puts his arm around him LOL
Oh great, now Justin Batman will be in the next Star Trek film! ;)
Congratulations to Kenny for winning this contest by getting all 7 correct, but I do have one question, and I'm not asking in hopes of altering the outcome in my favor (after all I only got 2 correct), but doesn't Kenny work in the movie business?
Yes I do.. well I work in the TV industry. Should that disqualify me for entering?? I don't have any inside info.. other then watching the trends of other award shows before the Oscars.

Yes, and it makes him clairvoyant! Everyone working in LA in the entertainment industry is. Contest was rigged! :)
Almost seems that way, doesn't it? LOL
And why do I keep getting, "Your session timed out while posting. Please try to re-submit your message."? I've only been here a few seconds.
Seymour, CT, I am from Greenwich! :)
Hi Bryancd from Greenwich who is now in Arizona! :-)

It's a lot warmer. :)
I can imagine. Right now, it's not much warmer than 40 here during the day and it drops into the 20s at night. We are expecting a little dusting of snow tonight. I'm glad the two feet we already had is pretty much melted away.
Well, look at it this way. For example, when McDonald's (or any other company for that matter) has a contest or game, one of the stipulations is that employees or immediate family can't participate (even though the contents of the playing pieces are hidden). No one really has knowledge of the winning pieces, but they can't play anyway. I'm just saying... :-)
So that would mean Rico's kids are ineligible for the competition? That's OK, I don't think they entered. ;)

I didn't work for any of those movies.. I don't even work in the movie industry per se.. I'm work in TV which is part of the bigger entertainment industry.
Guess I'm lucky this was just a fun contest and not an official entertainment industry contest, or I couldn't play.
I agree! Kenny, I'll expect fair and equal distribution of your prizes amongst all the other winners posthaste. Plus 15% interest as compensation for our pain and suffering. And a fifteen hundred word written apology for misusing the system.
I'm glad nobody is taking this seriously. It wasn't meant to be. I just wanted to stir it up a little and have some fun. ;)
My work on Bway has never disqualified me from entering Tony contests/pools. I'm not a voter.
Of course, I always pick what I want to win, and not what I think will win. Which means I never win the contest. ;)
Congrats, Kenny!
Thanks Rico for the prize package (Data Action Figure, Enterprise Novel & Star Wars comic book).. fantastic goodies.
TOO COOL Kenny! Congrats buddy!!!
Yay! Goodies! :) Congrats!
Glad you got the goodies Kenny. You can thank Lynn for mailing the package at the post office. I wasn't sure if you would have the SW comic book. New comic series by Dark Horse. Again, congrats!
Congrats again, Kenny. That action figure of Data would look nice along side of my autographed action figure of Hugh Borg (still in the packaging, of course). ;)
Awesome, congratulations Kenny :D
Cool prize package!

Dude!!!! That was amazing!! I'm surprised you had room for the books! ;D Very cool collection. I thought the Serenity figures were neat. And I told the wife you had the Lost ones. She is a HUGE Lost fan. Again Very Cool!
Thanks.. unfortunately everything has been packed away the past few years. Hoping to get a toy building built on my property or if I move get a two bedroom and get my room back up.. I miss walking through and checking out everything.
