Yep.. they're at it again.. another remake.. but I really enjoyed the original and think  remake could be pretty cool with the new SFX we have.

Universal Rebooting "Firestarter"

Universal Pictures and Dino De Laurentiis Co. are planning a new adaptation of the Stephen King novel "Firestarter" reports Variety.

The book centers on a young girl cursed with the gift of pyrokinesis - the ability to set things on fire using only her mind. Mark L. Smith is penning a script that will be "loosely based" on the book, and will reinvent the main character to have "more edge".

Drew Barrymore stared as the girl in a previous film adaptation in 1984. Universal hopes to make this the first of a potential franchise and production hopes to kick off sometime next year.

I hope they give the George C Scott role to Steven Seagal,wow Stevey time for a come back and an Oscar.
