New podcast is up. Bromptonboy (aka Peter) and I got together via Skype and cover the TOS episode, "Bread and Circuses." This was a lot of fun and I'm going to try and do more of these Trek commentary style shows with a co-host in the future. Hope you guys enjoy the show.
- Note - due to the Skype recording software and other factors, this show is in a slightly lower frequency range rate. I don't think you'll notice much of a difference, but just thought I'd toss that out there.

STAR TREK: TOS - 2x14 "Bread and Circuses" Trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47-1MNVc8-k#)
Hi Rico and all. Great podcast this week as always. Really enjoyed the tos episode, I havnt watched it in a good few years. I thought the ideas behind the episode were really interesting. Slavery, faith and spirituality and empires. Funny that for most of the world empires through our history, Babylon, Greece, Rome, Britian, Germany circa 30s-40s, if it wasnt for a few small things these Empire could of lasted thousands of years. Second is how having a faith or a spirituality can change a person so fundamentaly that they seem to be a different person.
Great episode anyway, was Kirk wearing a male corset in this?
Nice show, thanks Rico and Bromptonboy
In the media gallery is an interview of Tony Danza speaking about his year as a 10th grade English Teacher for A&E reality show "Teach".
Got it ready on my ipod ready for tomorrow, looking forward to hearing you both chat away. :D
GREAT podcast as usual Rico. Both you and Peter did really well. The whole family listened together and we all had hillarious memories of that show. I really liked this episode as it did have some spritual stuff in it. It was surprising to me with Gene being a humanist and all, but I am glad that at least one of the original series dealt with it in a positive way. It portrayed believers as peace loving and not idiots like a lot of stuff does these days. So, pretty cool in my eyes. Thanks for playing the MW promo too, that was nice of you.
GREAT SHOW!
Another great show! I'm on vaction this wek, so I listened to the podcast early. Thank you Rico and Bromptonboy!
Glad you guys are liking it. Love to get more of you on to co-host and cover an episode like Peter and I did. It was a lot of fun and worked out pretty well.
Next TOS episode, count me in!

The act that you appear to have memorised the episode list scares me!
Great show both, really enjoyed this. Had a double bill TSF today so Rico & Rick this morning followed by Rico & Pete this afternoon what a great couple of podcasts well done all.
I really like this guest co-host format. It'd definitely be a cool thing to do once in awhile. I'd be happy to do a TNG ep with you Rico. Disaster is a good one that I don't think you've done yet.
Great job the two of you :)

I'm game as well Rico. Just let me know when you need me...:)
Great show! Loved it and it was nice hearing a co-host. Although Peter...you did get one thing wrong. Bryan's Indian name is actually, "Dances Without Shirt"...:P
LOL!!
Katanka!
I think it's "Poses without shirt" :)

Rico, if you ever decide to do a podcast on Star Trek and/or other sci-fi video games I would be thrilled at the chance to co host with you. Drop me a line and get in touch anytime! I think this would be a terrific topic and one you've only touched on peripherally in the podcast so far.

That's my brother.... ;)
Great episide chaps. Your comment on DeForrest Kelley in Westerns reminded me (with the help of Mrs Robbo!), that he and Leonard Nimoy appeared together in a 1963 episode of The Virginian called "A Man of Violence" . Nimoy was a baddie, while DeForrest played...an Army Doctor!
Another fun podcast. I've always enjoyed this episode. I probably saw this a dozen tiimes throughout childhood, and it wasn't until I was nearly an adult that I "got" the meaning revealed by Uhura. It still gives me chills hearing her say:
"Don't you understand? It's not the sun up in the sky... it's the Son of God."
One of the great moments for me in all of Star Trek.
Very cool podcast gentlemen! I really enjoyed your interaction -- it really draws you into the content of the show. I love this episode, particularly the spiritual aspects which Trek tends to avoid. Do all of these parallel world stories always involve a bad Starfleet/Earth guy? (A Piece of the Action, The Omega Glory, and Patterns of Force to name a few)?

Yes I think you found a pattern! They think of it as the 'Prime Suggestion' - not the 'Prime Directive'. :)
Very nice. I remember this episode quite well so I must have watched it recently even if I can't remember when.
The commentary was helpful and came across as somewhat more informal and conversational than others. It's nice to see a new string added to the Trreks in Sci-Fi bow :)
I found these pictures online from Bread and Circuses. It's Captain Kirk and the Jupiter 8. Man, I love those boots.
