I'm heading up to a HUGE Air Show tomorrow morning (very early) to Wisconsin. Someone from work is going (and her husband) and invited me along. I've always loved aircraft and really want to still get my pilot's license -- someday. Anyway, I'll be gone from about 6am -> late evening. So you won't see me online much tomorrow (7/31). But I'll take lots of pics and talk a little about it on the podcast this weekend. Learn more of where I'm going here: www.eaa.org (http://www.eaa.org)
every one going to wiss my cousin and friend
Well, the show was awesome! I left yesterday at about 5:15am and got back around 1:15am (they had a special night air show too). So, I'm a bit worn out and a bit sunburned. But I took a ton of pics and a little video too (will post soon). I'll talk more about it on the podcast when I record soon (once my voice comes back a bit - lol).
Long day, glad you had a good time Rico, makes it worth it.
That looks great! We used to get the Blue Angels out here - but not for a few years. Would love to see that MIG fly.
Saw a Harrier fly. OMG! So awesome!!
Here she is:

Well, it kind of went on all day (and night). Plus TONS of planes sitting to see and take pics of. And lots of other aviation things. It's really hard to describe. It was A LOT more than just an air show. I talk about it a bit on this weeks podcast too.
Here's another little video I took of the 4FU Corsair. My favorite WWI warbird.

I have a lot of pics to put up on Flickr too. But here's a little preview of some of them...
x2 on the Corsair, I loved that plane, built all the models, and loved "Baa,Baa, Blacksheep"! The Corsair was second only to the Cadillac of the sky, the P-51D Mustang.

My Dad always tells us when we go to airshows how much he would love to have a Mustang.
Airshows are so much fun. Awesome pictures and video Rico.
Thanks guys. Many more pics to post still. I'll get them up soon. The guys talking about the Corsair in that pic with her wings folded up were pretty interesting. They actually flew that plane to Wisconsin from the west coast. He said there are only about 100 original Corsairs around still. About 1/3 can fly, 1/3 are in museums and the last 1/3 are being worked on or restored. The three bladed prop one isn't the one that flew in the show. There was another 4 blade prop one that flew in the aerial stuff and video I took.
It's sad that after the war most planes were either trashed or simply dumped into the ocean.
Excellent video and pics Rico. Man, wish I could have been there!
Very nice Rico. Looks like a lot of classic aircraft. I'm jealous, the airshows we have here are 90% modern aircraft on the ground and 99% modern in the air. And 95% of all that is military aircraft. I got some pics I took 3 years ago here: http://www.scotthough.com/nggallery/page-35/album-1/gallery-1/ (http://www.scotthough.com/nggallery/page-35/album-1/gallery-1/)
There were a TON of older planes. And lots of warbirds. Once I get the rest of my pics up you will be even more amazed. Biggest airshow in the world. I saw a lot of people from other countries walking around. Not even quite sure some of the languages I was hearing. Like a million people visit this and it goes on for a whole week - not just the weekend. It's an especially awesome place to go if you want to build your own plane. Tons of vendors, kit planes, etc. Really, really cool stuff.
Fun, fub, fun. I love airshows. Part professional interest and part sheer enjoyment.
When I go it either tips with rain or I end up like a lobster. Farnborough has just happened over here but I didn't get there this year :(
Ok, I just uploaded over 200 pics from the airshow here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/treksf/sets/72157624649389554/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/treksf/sets/72157624649389554/)
A few more selections here for you to see. Don't worry about the fires, it was all part of the show.
Thanks for sharing all of the wonderful pics on your flickr page. Like you, I also love the Warbirds of World War Two. I couldn't how many beautiful planes they had at that air show. If I were two thousand miles closer, I would have went with you.
Thanks. Believe it or not there were a ton of planes I didn't get pics of. Lots of even older aircraft and some more modern stuff I passed up. Only was there for one day of the week long event so I could only see so much of it. Love to go back again sometime to see more.
I enjoyed your pictures on flikr too. Excellent. Thanks for sharing.
The WW2 planes are pretty cool, and to have a show with explosions as well is even more cool.
My dad got a look at the pictures and is telling me how much he wishes he could get over there to see the show if we could. To bad Wisconsin is so far away from Washington cause that would be awesome fun.
I love the modern planes - the pictures of the C5(?) are great. I don't think I've even seen one sitting on the floor like that. The C-17's are fun too especially once they start doing their short landings.
Always good to see a Brit aircraft there too (Harrier). Your picture looks like it even shows RAF roudels on the side (although I think the Navy have most of ours now).
