Thought this was going to be more scifi-ish.. but looking more horror.

This movie seems like it could be REALLY good or REALLY bad, the idea is cool but the creature disturbs me :(
So who is going to have the lobes to see it this 3-day weekend? Not much other new other there....

Reminds me os Spieces for some reason...
Just got back from seeing it. Despite what you might think from the trailer, the film is more sci-fi than horror.
The film was OK- not horrible, but not groundbreaking either. I'd put it about halfway between Species II and District 9.
The effects were good; there was only one scene that took me out of the film for a second. Other than that instance, I pretty much felt like I was watching actual events caught on film.
The premise was pretty good. At the beginning, I could almost identify with what the protagonists were up to & empathize with them. And then, about halfway through the film, I found myself thinking "you guys are on a path that will not end well. How'd you get here?"
The thing is, I can't pinpoint the moment at which the transition occurred. :-\ I guess this goes to show how well the movie demonstrates the slipperiness of the slope of 'Cowboy-Science'. When exploring morally murky territory, I guess it's easy to get lost.
There were a few laugh out loud moments of dark humor that I won't mention for fear of spoiling the film. That, along with mostly good pacing, pretty decent acting and a few thought provoking themes make the film worth checking out, IMO.
