WOW! Oh, now I'm drooling.
I saw that last week in their ad. Thanks for the heads up Bryan. I am right behind you.
Hmm...I'll have to see if this deal exists north of the border.
Too good to pass up. Just ordered all three seasons. I expect in a couple of weeks some new super-duper packaged set will come out now that Bryan and I have these on order. LOL! ;)

LOL! Unless the Shat comes to deliver them to me himself, I think we will be happy with these, my brother in TOS. :)
That is a great buy. I checked our Canadian Best Buy site, but still selling for a higher price, hopefully at some point they will drop here.
I was in Best Buy today and saw those on sale. Unfortunately I already have them but if I didn't I would now! :)

Probably a 3D version out next month! ;)
That's a great deal. I wonder if they are region locked? Hmmmm

I expect they are region locked. But, you can get around that with a universal region player.
Right I wasn't sure if blu rays were region locked but I guess they are! Still a bit silly I think. Actually I also never looked into if PAL/NTSC still applied to digital media and newer non-tube screens. Anyone know?
I don't 'know' but I thought it did.
I'm not sure exactly what you mean. The lock should be based on the player/software/decoder in use. Since this is a digital signal the screen shouldn't really matter. I think it just has to be HDCP compliant.
I mean they have Region 1 DVDs, does that apply to blu ray as well? And if I remember right, NTSC/PAL was just a different way to encode the video on to the media, not sure if that encoding still happens on digita media. I know there is a layer of encryption, I guess I could just google it.
My Wife has a bunch of DVD's from China that are in PAL format, she doesn't seem to have much problems watching it on her Computer, but more often then not, we cant watch in on our DVD's players. Our Wedding DVD is in PAL, and I think we tried it either on our HD DVD player or our Blu Ray, and couldnt play it, as it seemed like the player did not like it. My memory is a bit foggy, but I recall when she first got here, we bought some really cheap DVD players to play some of her DVD's, and it was hit and miss on DVD's. She also has a portable Phillips DVD player, which handles most of the DVD's she puts in it.
According to the reviews you can watch the episodes with or without the enhanced special effects- your choice. That's a pretty neat feature.

Yes, basically they have the original episodes on the discs as well as the newer, enhanced versions.
In terms of region coding Blu-ray has 3 regions, A, B, C ghat are comparible with the old DVD regions. There is also an ALL regions too. Also the PAL / NTSC issue doesn't apply go digital media really.
I guess I'll have to look out for deals this side of the pond but Paramount has a long history of never reducing Trek releases in price over here so we will see. I had to get my TOS season 1 HD-DVD set from Canada to save money!
What a deal! Thanks for the notice.
