As from a previous thread some if you may know myself and Jen wrote a script for Necropolis studios called Two White Doves. We were given the title some key points and that was it, Jen had a idea that she had started with Chris a while ago and so we decided to build on that.
I'm very proud of the work me and Jen did and this was the email I had this morning.
Hello Everyone!
Just wanted to drop ya a note and let you know...

Thank you to Jen Rhodes and Simon Meddings for the story and writing the script! As well as all you wonderfully gifted voiceover artists! ALL OF YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

I'm writing this before I have even heard how it sounds but we're both excited. Hope you all like it.
I have downloaded it and am adding it to my list of fun things to listen too! Yay!
I've just listened and I have a big smiley face :)
Downloaded here too.
I'm off to Wells for again tomorrow/Wednesday so it's in the queue for listening to on the drive. Will it scare me while driving in the dark? ;)
Loaded for the commute.
Nice one, will get this loaded for a listen. :)
Listening now and enjoying it. I love the production values of it.
I would have done things a little differently with the production, but I'm learning that as writers we have to let go of the work that we pass to other producers and directors. Overall I thought they did a fairly good job with it.
It was fun to write. I'm happy with the story Meds and I wrote. :) I'm looking forward to producing our own scripts in the near future. Jen and Meds Productions has several series in the works. :)

Yeah that's why alot of folks will produce their own work.. more control over the end product.
Congrats to both you and Meds on a job well done.

That's ominous...I'd better not write anything to be produced by others. I'm not sure how well I let go of stuff.
I used to feel the same way Mike, but I have mellowed with time. If I can't fully capture on page the vision I see in my head, I can't fault others for failing to reach it when going off that imperfect page.

That's actually a very good way of expressing it. I'll remember that.
Still saving this story for tomorrow...

One of the things I was referring specifically, was the voice effect on one of the characters. As someone who casts, produces and directs it's difficult to let someone else do that for me. I really love casting...I learned a lot from Angela with regards to that and had specific ideas in mind for directing and voices... :)
I recently heard a novelist in an interview say that when she turns her work over to someone to make into a television show or movie, she has to think of that work as her grandchild, not her child. And she said that as the grandparent to the work, she can't tell the parent how to raise the child. That made perfect sense to me and I'm trying to remember that. :)
Has anyone listened to the drama? What did you think? :)
I listened! I'm not a fan of horror so the genre was strange to me. I am a fan of you and Meds, so the writing was, pardon the pun, killer! Seriously, the story was really cool. It had sci fi elements in it and that is what I liked about it. The production quality was really good too. It was a bit eerie, and I can't place my finger on why- other than I guess it's supposed to be! The music was really different than I thought it would be, but fit in a classic sort of way.
I think it is really cool to that you guys submitted a great script/story, and must be really cool and at the same time frustrating to see how someone interprets it.
Thanks Rick :) eerie is what I was hoping for, sci fi is hard to write at the best of times but having to add horror in it as well does push you but for me eerie is the best kind of horror.
Anyone else heard it yet? We can take criticism as well lol :)
Ummm...nice, constructive criticism.
Thanks Rick. The requirement we were given by Necropolis was that the script had to be sci-fi horror. Omega Road Chronicles is a sort of Twilight Zone series. Our script was to be one stand-alone episode amongst many. I don't like horror either...that's where Mr. Meds came in. You know, Mr: "I like to write of gushing blood and popping eyeballs." :D
Anyone else? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?
Gouging eye balls Jen, nice slow gouging of the eye balls. My mum didnt like that bit ;)
Hey Guys.. haven't listen to it yet.. to be honest I have no interest in this genre but since you guys wrote it I'll give it a go.
Thanks Kenny :D
Still queued.
I didn't get the podcast time I hoped for on my work trip. I don't really want to listen to it while working (or similar) as I'd like to give it the attention it no doubt deserves.
Got there!
Interesting story although I wasn't sure abough some of the gurgling self stabbings (sound effects rather than writing). The ending seemed to twist a little more than I expected too, I don't think I had an idea in mind but certainly didn't see it going down in the fashion that it did.
Any drama that gets Meds to kill himself at the end has got to be worth a listen :P
Mike you are all heart ;)
I haven't listened yet, but will in the next few days. Feedback will be coming then. :)
On my queue atm, will be some time though.

Tim I think it's too scary for you ;)
I do like the way it was produced. The envronments came across very well, particularly some of the more crowded scenes with the associated mic. echo etc.
What would be interesting would be to compare you mental images as you wrote it with my images as I heard it since I'm sure I missed some of the subtleties of the story.

It was definately creepy. Scary a little. I wouldn't say it was too scary, but really rather disturbing. (I mean this in the story sense).
The first stabbing of the eyes(?) was rather disgusting to me.
I'm not sure if I should give you kudos or barf on your shoes for it (:P).
Really well done audio production, It must be stated that hitting the stop button several times crossed my mind. The story was more than I thought it would be, and certainly raised (what I term "real life") questions. I also certainly questioned if I should listen to more that is put on the podcast channel, but I will no doubt listen to it because I'm just weird like that.
Thanks for the link and great job in the end. I have no rating as I'm unsure what rating to give it. Horror is rarely my thing so I have no real solid base on the subject matter.
So, good job and be proud of the work...or not. :) That's entirely up to you.

It's a one-off as far as I know. I think this is a series of stand-alones.
In that case, I'd better stick it on tomorrows playlist. Cheers
Let us know what you think Antony :)
Will do.
