Great show Rico!  The whole family listened on the way up and back to Olympia!

For those of you that want the new parody song called "Frodo & Sam" head on over to http://www.christrocks.com/parody (http://www.christrocks.com/parody)

Here are the lyrics:

Frodo & Sam
by Rick Moyer
to the tune of Jack & Diane by John Mellencamp

Little ditty about Frodo and Sam
Two little hobbits growin up in Shire land
Frodo's gonna be a hero and more
Sam will protect him all the way to Mordor

Suckin' on a pint of ale
At a party midst the trees
After the speech cousin Bilbo dissapears just like the breeze
Gandalf say, hey boys we've gotta go on a journey
Off to Rivendale we got us some Elves to see
And Frodo say a

Chorus:
Oh yeah life will go on
Long after the ring of Sauron is gone
Oh yeah life will go on
Long after ring of Sauron is gone they walk on

Frodo sits back and meets a guy named Strider
Gets stabbed by a witch king when he uses the ring
Rescued on a horse that runs him through the water
Elron says, it was no big thing

Frodo say a

Chorus:
Oh yeah life will go on
Long after the ring of Sauron is gone
Oh yeah life will go on
Long after ring of Sauron is gone

Gonna go through Rock
High and low
The Ringwraith riders come down and steal your soul
Hold on to the  one ring as long as you can
Things are gonna change for
Elves, Hobbits and Man

Chorus:
Oh yeah life will go on
Long after the ring of Sauron is gone
Oh yeah life will go on
Long after ring of Sauron is gone- Gollum

Little ditty about Frodo and Sam
Two little hobbits growin up in Shire land

I really enjoyed all the casting information you provided, great topic to touch upon. Dude, you and Lynne have to get to New Zealand someday, it's so beautiful. And Rick, one of you BEST songs!

Great episode!  I had never heard that bit about Lucy Lawless and Uma.  You are right - those roles should be reversed.  My mind's eye always has Michael Hordern (suitably bearded) as Gandalf - but alas - he would not be able to play that role any longer..

I have to say, in all the chaos of the last couple of weeks, I missed playing a comment sent in by a new member on the forum:  Obi-Wan Kovary.  I will play it on the next podcast.  Sorry about that Obi.

Well with Rick's Best of Episode he mentioned several podcasts that I still haven't listened too.. like X-Files or Klingon podcast and this one.. so I downloaded them and listed to this one on my way into work.

I LOVE Fellowship of the Ring it's my favorite of the LOTR trilogy and I really enjoyed this podcast.. I really enjoyed the cool insight into the casting.. I would have liked for it to have been longer.. I felt it was very short and you play only a few soundbites.. I could have listened to a 2 hour podcast on FOTR :) maybe we can get an extended cut in the future.

Next up.. Klingons...
