While surgery was a lot worse then expected, a hour and a half operation was over 4hrs as the damage was allot worse then expected, they had to do a full elbow replacement, not a partial like they thought, remove a piece of bone repaired the capella and remove two ligaments.
The pain was so bad they kept me in hospital for two days hooked up on a pain pump which did little until they changed pain meds, the pain was so bad my blood pressure got to 151 / 91 and pulse was121 now it it is down to 124 0over 80 and pulse around 100..
i have over 140 sutures and 40 staples to come out of my arm on Tuesday. oh joy. :'(
so say a prayer for me, all i can say is thank god for percocet, it is the only thing keeping me sane at the moment. :old_bash:
john :'(
Ouch! (It's insufficient to express my feelings but the sentiment is there)
It sounds bad but it also seems that what they found more than justified what they did. I hope you can take the long term benefits.
Hang in there. The end is in sight.
At least the worst of it is behind you now John and you can begin the recovery and rehab. Let's hope your progress is quicker than anticipated.
Kevin
Ugggh! A terrible cross to bear.
I am glad you are done with the surgery. Prayer has been said, and I will continue. Hang in there my friend.

Putting you on the prayer list. Quick recovery and little pain. How much rehab friend?
your emails are a definite comfort, pain is all their is for now and at times has left me in tears, but with each day it gets a bit easier to bear., last night was a real bad night, the pain would just not let up, it seems a little better today, as swelling has come down, but my arm is literally black and blue, i am hoping when the staples come out on Tuesday things will get better.
The doctor says i am doing well considering what was done..
|Thanks for your support, it really helps me make it through the pain.
