Title: ST-TWOK Phaser has arrived!
Post by: Bryancd on November 20, 2009, 02:51:14 PM
The new Diamond Select Wrath of Khan pahser! I have always loved this design. It has working lights and sound effects and the P1 removes from the P2. Awesome toy for only $27!

I'm always torn over this design myself. No visible emitter array of any sort is probably what puts me off and yet there is something appealing about it that I can't put my finger on.

Still, it's definately a cool toy. I certainly prefer it to the new movie version at the moment.

And yes, I'm talking about the phaser :)

What's interesting about that, mike, is the phaser beam is more like a ribbon in the effect shots. I always thought it looked very cool, you could see the four distinct beams within the main beam, so to speak. This one lights up and flashes when fired.

Cool Stuff Bryan. A friend of mine picked this up a few weeks ago, I must say, I was very impressed with it, and it was very well put together. Attaching and Detaching Type 1 phaser was really awesome as well.

Hmm, that's funny.  All I seem to see is Bryan's naked, buff body again!?!

OK, I admit it...for the second picture I did have to remove my T-shirt for continuity. ;)

I received the Entertainment Earth variant today.  It's the TMP version with more colorful lights, differently shaped buttons and a different trigger.  I love both, but I think I prefer the TMP version over the TWOK.

If you had kept your shirt on there would have been an entry in "The Nitpicker'sGuide to Byan's Collectible Photos and Naked Upper Body" :)

I always kind of liked that phaser, to me it's the most 'ray gun' looking of all the TOS/movie phasers.

I do like TMP version as well, but TWOK one gets more screen time and is used, so I have always connected more with it. I really love the design and alsways dug the sound when it fires. I'm still playing with mine on my desk.....shirtless of course.. ;)

If the photos on this site are any indication, Bryan only owns running/biking shirts and speed suits, so he must go to work shirtless too!

Noticed how I managed not to comment for full three weeks?

Now I have to say that I need more pictures of... the thing Bryan is holding, whatever it might be, it has six sides but we have only seen two so far! :D

OK, this is getting silly...and way off topic. Stop It!

Let's have a good, clean, healthy out-door sketch now!  10, 9, 8, and all that!

Not to go off topic but I've always been partial to the phaser model used in the Trek pilot. If the clunky old thing ran out of power you could bonk your opponent over the head with it. :)
