For those wanting to try a cool, fantasy-based MMO (for free), I learned that D&D Online is now all FREE (for the game and to play I think). I tried this out a long time ago when it was in Beta. Learn more at: http://www.ddo.com (http://www.ddo.com)

Cool! Although I have to guiltily admit that I would love to play the only table-top version again. Haven't done it in years.
Wow, I will have to check this out. I was an old school D&D player back in college and still have my old character sheets laying around in hopes that our game might get back together some day. I heard mixed reports about this MMO but was heavily into WoW at the time so I never tried it. I wonder if this free play is a permament change or just a limited time to suck in new players.
I think the pay is free, but it will cost to unlock a few things
Oooohhhhhhhh... DnD and free? I so hope I make my saving throw...

Well, I played a little of this (for free) this morning. It is definitely free, but has a few limitations (like Chris said above). You can certainly enjoy a good part of the game completely for free. Here's a chart of what you get for free and upgrade levels. More info here: http://www.ddo.com/vip (http://www.ddo.com/vip)
