Title: SG-1, The Guild, Dr Horrible...
Post by: Bryancd on September 24, 2009, 04:33:56 PM
OK, I give in.

I have signed up for Netflix and have watched the first disc of the first season of Stargate SG-1. That pilot was as bad as "Encounter at Farpoint" but with full frontal nudity.  :jawdrop The first two regular episodes were much better...but no nudity.  :thumbsdown ;) Looking forward to the rest.

Dr. Horribles Sing Along was very funny and well done. Now I will have to go back and watch Firefly, that Mal dude, Hammer whatever, was awesome!  :metallica:

And for Kenny's birthday, I watched the first season of the guild on YouTube. It was great.  :biggrin

Stargate: SG1 started on Showtime for the first five seasons.  So, you do get some nudity and language during those seasons.  Also, like many series it takes awhile to really get going - at least in my view.  But it lasted for 10 seasons and has some great stuff during it's run.

BRYAN - I think you will really enjoy "Firefly."  Make sure to watch the series before you watch the "Serenity" movie.  Oh, and if you haven't watched "Farscape" ever, give that a shot sometime too.  One of my favorites.

They've just recut the Stargate pilot (released in the last couple of months) to take out what I think were described as the Showtime influences i.e. the channel pushed them to do things in a certain way and they've now "corrected" all of that.

I haven't seen it yet.
