I grew up LOVING Skynyrd. Been to a couple of their shows, bought their records, etc.
Since I last say them in 2001, 4 members have died. 2 of those being original members leaving only rhythm guitarist Gary Rossington from the original lineup. The band has continued on with the singer's younger brother singing, their fill in drummer from the 70s on guitar, among other southern rockers from different bands.
I watched them on Connan the other night and it bothered me a little. I didn't know half the band. I still enjoyed listening to it but something just didn't seem right. I think it's time to change their name to "the Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band."
