Any summary or anything released yet? I'm quite excited to see this, hopefully it's as good as the other 3!
Apparently there is a Pirates of the Carribean novel of the same title, but whether this is based on the book or just borrows the title is unknown.
I didn't know they were doing a part 4, but with Johnny Depp set to return as Captain Jack Sparrow, I'm really looking forward to this. It has been one of those franchises I have shared with my daughter and I have loved every movie so far, even At Worlds End!
Though I do admit that

it was lame the way they killed the giant squid. One minute it is devouring Captain Jack. Next sighting, it is rotting on a beach after being made to beach itself!! [/spoiler]
But, apart from that one thing, I loved the movies and am relishing the thought of this movie...

I have enjoyed these movies and was kinda surprised they decided to do another one. I thought they were done. I look foward to see how it works out without Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly. I probably spelled her name wrong.

I just finished watching 1-3 again. These are some of my favorite action/adventure movies of the recent decade. Such amazing choreography with the massive pirate battles. They did a great job with these and I can't wait to see what they do with the next one.
I am especially glad they are bringing back Geoffery Rush as Barbosa. He's so good in that role, such a talent. And I have a feeling Ian McShane is going to be amazing as well. He was brilliant in Deadwood and seems perfect to play Blackbeard. I'll be in the theatres for this one.

I saw the movie tonight, and my friends and I agree that it's a lot better than no.3!! A couple of points:-
Stay till after the end credits!
A great cameo early on in the movie
There is something that reminded me of the Guardian of Forever, out of the City at the end of forever!

The 3D is good, but I am getting so fed up of 3D movies. I hope this 'fad' doesn't last for too long!

Wife and I have date night tomorrow at the movies, but I have a feeling I'm going to have to see "Bridesmaids." Hopefully I can convince her to see this instead, because there's no chance it's going to be Thor.

Joby that would make for a nice afternoon. Going to catch Pirates Sunday with my brother and his family. Then its a week off from a new movie until 3 in a row. X-Men: 1st Class June 3, Super 8 June 10, and then Green Lantern June 17.
Mark and I are going on Sunday too.
Saw this 4th Pirates film today and really enjoyed it. Went over and saw it at a new movie theater in town near Mark's house. Nice theater, has bowling, a nice restaurant, etc. too. The movie was a fun romp and more like the first film I thought. Lots of swordplay and action. Some great scenes and a tight little story. Penelope Cruz seemed to fit right in too. I'd be fine with a number 5. These movies are just fun to watch and I think they got back on course with this one. Go see it!
I enjoyed it too. Nice to go with my wife and my brothers family. And I agree with you Rico I think they got back to what made the original so good.

I saw this today, and thought it was a lot of fun. I like the idea that Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightly are no longer in the series, as I feel for story lines, they are much more free to take these stories in more fun angles without being bogged down with a relationship. I sort of like that it is Captain Jack Sparrow and a few supporting characters on different adventures. I agree, this one had the same spirit as the first one.

I agree with you guys it was a fun movie, but I thought the story was a little lacking. I feel it wasn't on par with the first one, but possible better than 2 and 3. All in all fun to watch.

I agree with everything Sheppard said. I too thought the story was a little lacking, but overall, enjoyable. However, I love the characters and the whole Captain Jack world and really enjoyed it. (That said, I would enjoy watching Captain Jack washing his socks!!)
Jack is just fun to watch. I wouldn't mind seeing more adventures like this in future Pirates movies.
A saw a little behind the scenes spot on Netflix through Starz. It was about 12 minutes long with mostly things I hadn't seen before. It's interesting if you get a chance to check it out.
Just saw the flick, it was fun. That's really all I can say and if you were expecting more than fun, your watching the wrong film :).
