New show is up covering the TOS tale called, "The Changeling." Enjoy and thanks to those that contributed this week.

Good episode. Yeah, I wonder which one lost the most red shirts?
Nice show featuring a classic techno-geek episode from TOS
My hypothesis of where the NOMAD Hybrid came from is that our original probe collided with one sent by the Ancients from the SG-1 universe. A highly advanced race, they had developed a way to channel unlimited power from subspace for peaceful purposes. the more primitive earth programming was directing this new found power.
Could be a message in there somewhere eh?
I thought TOS could have come up with a better name, cause my brother had a '57 Nomad and it didn't look anything like it :-\
Here's the remastered effects for this episode:

Here is the song that I did:
http://www.chrisrocks.com/parody (http://www.chrisrocks.com/parody)
It's Nomad
to the tune of Linda Ronstadt's "Hurt so bad"
by Rick Moyer
Travelin' through
Lost contact with the others too
Somethings coming at warp two
Well let me tell you that it's, it's Nomad
It's acting really really bad
It's the probe Nomad coming back again
Like M4 from Flint
Your programming it must have strayed
Roykirk didn't program you that way
Well let me tell you that it's, it's Nomad
It's acting really really bad
It's gonna hurt Nomad, if you get your way
Why don't you stay
let me mind meld with you today
It's true I'm biological too
You served me before, now serve me again
I can't let you go back to Earth
Please don't go Nomad
Please don't go
Please don't go ooooo
It's Nomad
bring Scotty back Nomad
Imperfect Nomad check your record banks for me
Oooooh oh oh oh
You're imperfect Nomad
You know it's really bad when Uhura must learn ABC's
No, it's Nomad
You see you're just as bad
Cool song. Thanks so much for doing it.
Real fun podcast and a great song Rick. Thanks Rico. :)
A nice TOS episode but one I have only vague memories of ever having seen. I like the concept, even if it was re-used for the film - there's a lot of milage to be gained from a piece of our technology coming back and biting us at a later date. Even the Six-Million Dollar Man got a script out of that idea I believe.
One thought I had was that Spock voicing the thoughts of the probe during the meld started to sound a bit Dalek like toward the end (Sterilise rather than Exterminate but close enough) and I agree with both the observations from the podcast -
90 torpedos would surely have vapourised the Enterprise
there's no way NOMAD wouldn't have realised that Kirk was human
I can over-look them, though, as the episode seems to be a good one from what I heard (the forum link to the player that has the episode available doesn't work in the UK BTW so I still haven't seen it.)
I'd agree that the overall message of the episode is more important then the technical details. One example that I (as a techie) find funny is referring to the computer have x number of circuits. It's a very 50's and 60's architectural reference, which to me dates the show. However I can overlook it.
I have to agree with Rico, the scene where Spock is mind melding with Nomad is very well done. I got chills just listening to the audio track.
I thought that was a great episode very classic
