I thought I posted a thread about this.. but I can't seem to find it so I'll post another one.

Here's some more info...
Some of the features of Serenity – The Big Damn Replica:
One big boat. Our Serenity measures 19"x12"x7", or 1:180 scale. (stand adds 4.5")
Incredible complexity. The kit used to build Serenity consists of more than 250 parts, including resin, brass, aluminum and laser-cut acrylic.
Film-quality build. Some 30 different colors, including flat and metallic paint, are used in the ship's multilayer paint master.
Spitting image. Weathering, wear and other painting effects are designed to exactly mirror the movie version of ship.
Superior components. Surfaces are crafted to simulate real-world materials – metal, ceramic, even the mirrored surfaces of the solar panels.
No decals. All graphics on Serenity are painted on by hand.
SFX Edition. Our SFX Edition incorporates some 32 lighting effects, including static, flashing, strobe and chase lights.
Wireless remote. The SFX Edition replica includes a wireless remote control to operate lights with a separate button for activating "hard burn." Lighting system includes automatic 15-minute shutoff to help protect the both the lights and model.
Cool display. Serenity's display base/diorama looks like a landing pad straight out of The Verse. It comes with an acrylic cradle that shows Serenity in flight. Standard configuration features Inara's shuttle taking off while the other shuttle is docked in its bay.
Big Damn Heroes. Eight crew members can be seen on the bridge.
Pro Prop Crate. Each Serenity is shipped in custom-cut foam and stored in a hand-built wooden apple crate, just like what the pros use to safeguard their props.
As with all QMx Artisan replicas, Serenity – The Big Damn Replica is made to order in the U.S. by special-effects artists (who build models for movies when they're not working on our replicas). Not only does this allow us to offer you a replica of great intricacy and beauty, it also allows you to make your Serenity uniquely your own.
Options available for customization include:
Engines pose (Crazy Ivan, anyone?)
Shuttles in-flight or docked.
Captain's name on the builder's plaque.
SFX or standard (non-lit) version (lighting system is optional).
Reactor shutters open or closed.
That is a beautiful model, hope its in the low hundreds :)
Looks nice, but I wish they would have listed prices.
The SFX edition WILL be on my shelf!
Oooohhhh *wipes drool from chin* :wub
I will have this!

More - for the full-blown SFX edition.
Sad though I wanted to fly around my room going wooosh wooosh
Saw both the light up one and the standard one at Comic Con and they are magnificent.. the detail is unbelievable.. made me want one even more. I did hear a rumor that the SFX one that lights up may cost about $1500 but I hope that's not true as I couldn't spend that much on one piece.
Any pics of them Kenny?
From FireFlyShipWorks.com
I'll admit it. I got the "ManCrush" on Mr. Fillion.... but I sure would like mine to be "blessed by Morena.

Oh - that's a great picture!
Wow nice size! That is probably worth whatever the price is
I miss Firefly, Nathan Fallion is a stud!

wow, that is pretty.
I just got an email update from QMX, here it is for those who are intrested in the Serentiy Replica:
"Response to our Serenity replica has been incredible. The number of folks who signed up for the waiting list has far exceeded our expectations and the edition size. As a result, we have some good news for you.
Bigger BDR Edition. We have increased the size of the edition to 1,000. The waiting list still significantly exceeds this number, but at least 1,000 puts Serenity within reach for a lot more fans.
Here's how it will work:
Very soon now, we will be announcing a preorder date and will send a special link only to customers on the waiting list. When that time and date arrive, get to the website and place your order as quickly as you can; orders will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Folks on the waiting list get first dibs, but only for a limited amount of time.
Once the preorder period is over - and assuming the edition is not sold out - we will then open up ordering to the general public.
SFX for Free. You made it clear in your e-mails you want the SFX edition, but only if we can make it more affordable. We heard you - which is why we will not be offering a standard (non-lit) edition of The Big Damn Replica. Instead, everyone on the waiting list will get a coupon code along with preorder instructions for a discount equivalent to the value of the lighting. You will, in effect, be getting the lighting system for free. This coupon will supersede any previous coupons for the QMx Serenity replica and will be available only for those Serenity replicas bought directly through the QMx website.
So What's the Gorram Price? We know the biggest question you have is, "How much?" The answer is, we're got just a couple more details to lock down and will announce pricing in the next e-mail. We're also just locking down the details on a payment plan. That's right: We're pleased to announce there will be a layaway option for those who are big on love, but a little short on ready cash.
Did You Know?
Each Serenity Replica requires more than 46 hours of
an artist's time to wire, paint and assemble?
40% Off the Serenity Blueprints. We want to thank you for your interest in Serenity - The Big Damn Replica. And what better way to do that than to give you a very special price on the Serenity Blueprints Reference Pack?
Out of print for almost a year, this best-selling set of blueprints and other background information on the Firefly-Class Transport is a "must-read" for anyone contemplating the purchase of the Big Damn Replica. Consider it a little homework, only a lot more fun than algebra.
And to make it even more tempting, you can get a Reference Pack for 40% off the retail price of $34.95. Just go to the Blueprints product page on the QMx website and enter the coupon code "BDRBLUE" when you check out. Offer good through September 5, 2009.
That's it for this update! Stay tuned and watch for that preorder e-mail. It's going to be shiny, indeed!"
Save your Nickles.. The MSRP has been announced at 2,500!
Just got that email.. WOW... I love it but not that much. And if you already put your name down on their waiting list you can get a $500 off coupon. But still at $2000 it's way out of my price range. Oh well.. maybe will get a cheaper version one day.
Even I'm a bit shocked at that price tag. Even the Master Replicas Millennium Falcon or the TOS Enterprise were not that high in price. I'm actually kind of happy it's that far up there in cost. Now, I'm not even tempted.
Yeah I'm with you Rico.. if it was $1000 to $1500 I may have considered it..
I guess for now it's just me getting one then.
For the record it's out of my price range as well.. but thank god for overtime.
Way too much for my blood. Even if I had the bucks right now I wouldn't do it. I really think they overpriced this one, based on the current economy.
Wait till they price the Enterprise model! Likely to be $3000+. LOL! Good luck with that.

I disagree on that price. I think it will be less than the Serenity ship. It's actually not as complex of a piece and I also think they will keep in mind the price of the Master Replicas Enterprise. I predict between $1500 - 2000. But I'm still not getting that either. Not for a ship seen in a total of one film so far.
Well, for those with deep pockets - tomorrow (10/30) is order day for this!
So anyone order this bad boy yet?
Ya right, Too rich for my blood!!!
Maybe we should all go in for $100 each and we could share it? We'd each get 2 weeks a year!!! LOL

I got an email from Jessica at QMX last Friday informing me that I am 035.. so sometime in the coming weeks I should be getting a call from the folks at QMX to discuss the fine details of how I want the ship configured and such..
Well...One year after I ordered it.. The folks at QMX just informed me that my "Serenity" will be here right before Thanksgiving! They were also kind enough to send me a picture of it which I am happy to share here.

Holy cow! That thing sure is 'purty! Love to hear an audio review for the podcast sometime. And of course LOTS of pics!
That is really cool looking! Congrats! I love the details.
Well.. I got it Last week.. but it arrived broken. So now its another wait (and probably long) to get it replace/repaired.
Bummer! But it does look great, I hope they are able to set you right.
I thought now was a good time to "update" the status of my "Serenity" since it was repaired and returned a long while ago. Its a nice little model I have to say.. but I have no where to display it so it mostly stays in the shipping crate. The Firefly "Cast" visits Texas every now and then.. so I get QMX to make additional "Signature Plaques" for them to sign. At this point I've gotten just about everyone's Signature for this.. Alan and Gina still have yet to make a stop near me.

And today was a special day for the ship because Summer Glau came to North Texas on very short notice for the Dallas Comic Con. That left me no time to have QMX make a "Plaque" for her... I figured I'd just bring the whole thing to her. And it turned out to be the Best Day of my Geek Life.
Summer Glau Kissed my Serenity!

You have Summer Glau's DNA ....
Best collectible "autograph" ever! :)
Wow, very cool Ship looks great, but even better with Summer :)
That thing is AWESOME. And I love Summer. :)
And of course if the ladies want to buy their own Serenity ship - you can get Nathan to kiss it!
How fun! I love it!
Fantastic photo batmite! :)
LOL awesome photos :)
I liked the Summer kissing Serenity better! She sure is pretty!!
ah another one! XD

Ha.. I actually put that photo of Nathan kissing the Model on my phone and showed it to her as I politely asked her if she could "replicate" that shot. When Ms Glau saw it.. she didn't even hesitate one second when she replied "Absolutely".
Ha, that makes her photo cooler :)
Quick thinking!

I still want one of these things.
