One advantage of kids heading to college and starting to leave the nest is it opens up some room in the house. Lynn is moving her scrapbook stuff, computer, etc. into Stephen's old room, which is much bigger than where she used to have it all. It's a really nice room upstairs with angled ceilings and a lot of light. So today we painted it. Here are some pics.
P.S. Kaylee remained "paint free." (I think)
Painting can be quite relaxing I find. It's a good time to be doing it too - don't put it off until just after you start any new job!
I'm impressed that you have enough space to move everything out of the room to decorate it. I always end up having to shunt stuff around these days. Signs of a full house and too much furniture I guess.
Looking good mate. I'm about half way through decorating the main bedroom. I've put up new coving, news kirting board and just painted the ceiling and put primer on the new additions. I enjoy it but with the temperature here being quite hot its a bit hard. Saying that in my work place my thermometer hit 120 dgr F, mixture of sun and machine heat.

Yeah - I've always enjoyed home improvement stuff, painting and so forth. Oh, we don't have a lot of furniture just a lot of stuff! Plus, Stephen took his bed & desk from that room up to his apartment at college for the summer since he is working up there over the break.
Taking the furniture away makes it easier. It looks like a very nice room.
I wouldn't fancy the job here at the moment - as Meds says, the humidity etc is just too much.
We had some heat last week, but this week is VERY mild for the start of July. Only about 65F. here today and about 50F. overnight.
Heat wave over here which is great but when you live in the UK and used to rubbish weather sudden heat catches you out. My work place has no air con and with the machines going and the heat inside i was a bit shocked to see the temp at 120F, then getting home and then painting the water is just pouring out, still good way to loose weight ha ha.

Is that a can of Rico Cola on the ladder in that one picture?
Just plain old Pepsi - for now. ;)
Great color! Sort of a sage green or a sea foam green. :) God, I hate painting rooms...
Wow that looks great Rico! Nice Job!

Mountain Dew green ?
I love that color Rico! Personally I probably would have left the closet doors white but it looks great!
Kevin
Great Job with the painting Rico. I will probably have some room painting to do come August.
Here's Lynn's new room all done and with stuff moved in. She's enjoying the bigger space.
Looking great Rico.
Nice.
I'm still jealous of the space :)
That looks very nice Rico. Tell Lynn I love her desktop!
Great Job on the room Rico, and your Wife did a nice Job decorating it. Looks like a good room to get a lot of work done
