Hi guys.
Ever since I started listening to Ricos show all that time ago, I always wanted to put something out there myself but never had any ideas for a subject. Until now.
I am in love with my ipod Touch and I am always downloading applications onto it and I spend far too many hours playing about with them. I decided that I could review these apps. in a short weekly podcast. Nothing flashy, very cheap and totally amateur.
Armed with Audacity for recording, Podbean for hosting, and a cheap (but surprisingly good) headpiece I thought I could do this. So I came up with the idea for "Appytimes."
This is a podcast about free and cheap applications for the ipod Touch, specifically the Ipod (although these apps. can also be used on iphone.) One take, no editing. Each week I'll take one application (be it a game or a tool) and I'll give a brief description, itunes rating and my own review on it. No application will cost more than a couple of quid unless something special come up.
I am posting my announcement here a couple of days before I announce it on Twitter. Treks In Sci-Fi has been so good for me and Rico started me on this love of podcasting, and I'd love to share my show with you guys first.
Any comments or suggestions or even criticisms are welcome here. I'd love you to check out the link below or you can search itunes for Appytimes in the store.
I look forward to receiving your thoughts.

One app a week for five or ten minutes sounds like exactly what I want to hear. I've never picked up any of the longer iPhone specific shows - just not going to spend an hour a week on that when there's Sci-Fi stuff to listen to.
Count me in!

Thank you Mike. This was something I noticed when I came up with this idea. I listen to many many podcasts and most of them are a little long. A short weekly podcast was what I wanted to go for. I used "Tech Five" as inspiration for the short length. And besides, the idea of doing a longer show on my own is too scary.
I am so there. I can't wait!
I'll be subscribing mate, welcome to the podcasting world. I don't have a iphone yet but seriously thinking about it so i'd welcome a podcast telling me all about apps etc etc. :-)
Nice one, Tim!
Have subscribed and left you a comment, oh and i love your intro music, what is it, i want it.... i gave you my theme Tim, time for swopsies ha ha ha. great stuff. :)
Great Job Tim, enjoyed your first two podcasts. My Wife has an Ipod Touch, so your podcast will give me some good ideas for apps to download. Looking forward to your future podcasts.
I am really digging your podcast Tim. I've listened to some of your programs more than a few times! Your humor and informtion rocks my world. I even did a little segment on your podcast in mine coming up this weekend. AWESOME!
I have to say that "Crappy Appy's" is my fave. :)
I really shouldn't listen to this podcast then I'll want an IPOD Phone more....=(
But I will, even though I shouldn't =)

Thats the problem I have. Tim tells me every week about something I can't have!! :(
I still loves it though. Loves it enough to make it a "Podcast Of The Week"
Appytimes is still going strong but expect the ratings to take a nosedive this week ;)
The episode's a good one, RSS Player is a great app but yours truly as a host? Average :D
Take a listen - http:\\appytimes.podbean.com
Oh great! Now I got you telling me what I can't have too!! :)
I hold you responsible for this Morris...
'Words with Friends' is an addictive scrabble-type words and letters game played via a server somewhere. Curses! I'm hooked!
I love it.
I think my wife and play this more often than talk these days! ;)
Yeah I have a minimum of 3 wrods games going at once.
YOU'RE GOING DOWN FEATHERSTONE!
Joe you went down ;) lol
lol, perhaps I'm not as perspicacious as I thought. Or maybe I should stop playing in the bathroom at work.

IN YOUR DREAMS :)
I started off with about 7 games on the go but I'm paring it down now. I find I have problems with words longer than about four characters which means I lose out in the end.
I always loose ( bar thrashing Joe ;) of course he will have vengence ) but it's the fun of learning new words. :)
I like near the end when i start randomly placing my 3 remaining tiles (usually horrible letters like V or Q) to try and make words I didn't know existed!
Oh yeah, saying that my first go the other day dealt me tiles that were Q Z R V P T T F give or take, not one vowel lol.
I'm playing now as kingisaaclinksr. I need more friends as I only have one person atm. So send em to me, I'll beat you old farts. :P (maybe)

Ha! Try it!
I actually suck at scrabble, but this game isn't too bad. Ofc, it helps that you can go on your own pace and not worry about the fact that your 70 year old Grandmother is kicking your butt.
:P

lol I haven't been doing so well thus far.
