Title: Star Trek: Nero
Post by: wraith1701 on June 23, 2009, 05:50:12 PM
IDW is publishing a mini-series detailing the events that occur during the 25 year gap between the destruction of the Kelvin & the reappearance of the Narada in the new Trek film.  In a nutshell, it sounds like a sort of 'sneak preview' of the footage cut from the movie!  Check out these preview pics.  The word balloons are missing, but I think it's pretty easy to tell what might be going on from context:

Nero and his followers immediately after the murder of the captain of the Kelvin-

Weakened by the collision with the Kelvin, the Narada gets ambushed by Klingons?

Nero fighting off a Klingon boarding-party?

I picked this up yesterday at the LCS, but haven't had a chance to read it yet.  I did take a peak inside though, and was pleasantly surprised to see
Klingons WITH head ridges! And coolest of all, the captain of the Klingon ship that captures Nero is Kor, longtime enemy of Kirk & longtime friend of Dax!
I can't wait to give this comic a nice, slow read. :)

But they have TMP Klingon K'Tinga class cruisers. Should have changed the ship design. But looks cool, Eric!

Sounds cool!  I might have to put it on my things to do list for tomorrow morning.
