Title: Sky+
Post by: Feathers on June 07, 2009, 06:44:09 AM
Despite everything I've ever said about paying for TV viewing (other than the licence fee) and how Freeview is enough and how I will never get Sky...I've just ordered a Sky+ setup.

I know that I haven't said most of that stuff on here by I've been strongly anti-subscription TV since it was introduced. No more!

The clincher was the free installation as well as the free box (do they ever really charge for the box?) which together is a notional saving of £130 (or $200 at todays rates). As I say, I'm not sure anyone's really ever paid for a Sky box but on paper at least, the saving looks good.

Not getting many channels so the package is cheap but even then I should get most of the new US Sci-Fi on Sky 1 or the UK Sci-Fi channel.

Roll on new shows!

Anything is possible!

Actually we got Sky for the kids channels. The Sci-Fi effect is purely coincidental. ;)

No Sky for me for quite a while. Dish plugs straight into my media PC for Freesat and now my TV antenna does the same for Freeview. I can record 2 channels and watch a third, all for free.

Long live Media Center!  ;D
