Master Replicas officially cancelled the Rest of the Tricorder run today siting legal issues and factory problems. So Rico I guess you got really lucky being one of a handful of people to get this prop.
Although this company does have the license for the new movie I am unsure at this point if it would be wise to purchase from them in light of the fact that since popco took over, the only thing they have produced is the assault phaser. and finished the run of enterprise studio scale and nautilus models.
I kind of think, that in light of the fact they had a slew of preorders for this for well over a year and had all the parts for this item, that cancelling it now was a rather dumb think to do and only ticked off the remaining customers they had, all of who will be reluctant to purchase from them in the future.
If there are legal issues, it's not as if they can just move forward because they want to. It was probably the only thing that they could do.
It does seem sad that they were unable to get the rest finished. With this economy, it must be very difficult to get items like these produced and still make any money off of them. From reading posts on the MR forums, sounded like they had all the parts, but the factory did not have the skill anymore to assemble them in an acceptable fashion. I would be surprised if MR has anything new coming, sounds like they are down to a handful guys running it, and probably spend more time trying to keep it going within their larger corporation then actually being able to work at getting anything produced. If there is a shortage of factories able to do the assembly work, that would throw a lot of water on any of their plans as well.
Really to bad, I was looking forward to more high end Star Trek products.

Gee - I wonder how many they finally made? Going to China is a tricky idea for this stuff. You really need to watch over them there. With the current state of things in the US, they really should try to make stuff here again - like they did at first. I'll work for them! :)
