Just got show # 223 up (early today). This is a unique edition of Treks in Sci-Fi. I hope you all enjoy it and a big thanks to Rick Moyer for making it happen.

Good. I'm all out of podcasts. Did a lot of listening yesterday.
Will download as soon as I get home. (Currently sitting in McDonalds for Sunday lunch - don't ask!) y
Well, realised McD's have free WiFi so downloaded there and then. Listened as soon as I got home.
I loved the comments about Rico's legs. It brought to mind pictures of hundreds of working class families on the stony beaches of the south coast of England with handkerchieves knotted on their heads and trousers rolled up to the knees with white legs on view to the world. *Shudder* Maybe Meds had that in mind when he asked?
With reference to some of the comments on 'missing a series so dumping the show'. That's more or less what happened to me with TNG. I think I saw the first one or two and basically gave up (too many plastic rocks). Once it started to get better, I alsmost didn't bother at the time since I'd missed too much. I did give in and watch in the end then caught up on the beginning later.
The same happened with Babylon-5 but there I didn't even try and jump in in the middle. Just as well really when you consider the overall arc of that show.
And finally, as one of those pesky UK forum members Rico wants gone...goodbye :(

Yeah - this show was a lot of fun to do. I was feeling pretty relaxed that evening and Rick is easy to talk to. Thanks a bunch to him and everyone that sent in questions and helped with this show.
P.S. And my legs are really not that white! Well, at least not as much as some older photos seem to show. I plan on working up a good tan in my time off. ;)
The other question I'd forgotten...given that this was entitled Inner Rico, I was expecting flute playing. :)
Thanks for that Rick and Rico.. a really fun podcast. Got to know "the Rico" a little bit better.
Good show guys.
Rick's "Behind The Podcast" interview with Rico on the other side of the mic this time, raised some insightful answers regarding our online Trek community and the scope of Treks in sci-fi in general.
I'm glad Rico's podcast has a wide appeal and know I've gained a greater appreciation of Trek, not to mention becoming a fan other great sci fi series and podcasts due to Rico's efforts!
My question from today's show is:
Rico, have you considered seeking a commercial sponsor?
What effect, if any would that have on your podcast?
"Dif-tor heh smusma"
Dave
As far as sponsorship I have had a few little things so far but I try to keep it donation based. Due to the strong "Star Trek" connections, audio clips, etc. I have to keep it non-profit. However, besides some of the things I mentioned this week on the show as far as the future goes, I am going to try and wrangle up some more prizes for contests, and also I'm trying to get a few other things going too. Stay tuned.
Very. very cool episode. Rico is very open on the show but this was nice. I listened yesterday while putting some shelves together.
Great podcast, guys. I loved the story about how you met your wife. Thanks for letting know a little more about yourself. I would go to a midnight showing of The Wrath of Khan with you anytime.
Wonderfull podcast guys, rick you are a great interviewer and it was great to hear all about our beloved Rico. Alas i think us Blighty chaps (and ladies) will be here for quite a while and as I think I'm the longest serving out of out bunch (who regularly turn up here) I think i can safely say I have no intention of leaving LOL ha ha ha.great show I really enjoyed it. I think maybe Rick should interview Kenny next and then Jen, and then go through the rest of us, that would be fun.
The wife story has several other little off-shoots I didn't mention. When I get Lynn to come on the podcast maybe we can talk more about it at that time.
Oh i so look forward to that, will be great to hear you both together.

Yeah great podcast! Wonderful to hear more about you Rico!
Don't know about you Meds but I'm going have to wear my new TrekSF t-shirt around town and advertise the heck out of TrekSF. There's just not enough UK members here for my liking! ;)
Great Job both on the Interview, really enjoyed listening and your perspective on things Rico. Looking forward to the future of Treks in Sci-Fi, sounds like some exciting things planned.

Oh great idea Dan, I'm wearing mine on St Georges day and will raise my black Treks tshirt up on a flag saying UK members unite against the new world. Let the take over begin ;)
Loved the podcast. I totally agree that kids learn from their parents. Just wish more parents would take that kind of responsibility for their kids and not depend so much on the villiage.
Thanks Rico for all the hard work you put into the podcast. It makes Monday's at work bearable.

Glad you liked it - and welcome!
I'm here I'm here please don't delete me :o
Sorry got panicky after I heard the Rico cast and there were mutterings about infrequent posters on the forums. Anyhoo great podcast, I don't normally go for the "chat ones" as I prefer the standard format but this was an interesting one to listen to. I thought one thing that should have been mentioned a bit more when you talked about the measure of success was the whole community this cast has brought together, the forums, the RPG, the book club, all the other podcasts that members do (inspired & encouraged by this one) is a real testament to everyone and of course the one true Rico
Good job and keep going everyone
(oh and did I mention PLEASE DON'T DELETE ME) :taz
I thought this was the best episode yet. Having someone to bounce ideas off of really helps.
Looking forward to whatever's next! :)
Just finished listening. Great job Rick with the interview duties and really charming and thoughtful responses Rico! I felt like I should have been there as well as I got lot's of mentions! Yes, New Zealand is the most magical place on Earth. Australia is a close second. We have also been to Hawaii. If you are going to make that long flight from Detroit to Hawaii, just stay on the plane another 6 hours and head to Aukland!
And yes, you are on JJ's payroll.....;)
Just now catching up on Trek SF podcasts...been so busy haven't had a chance to listen to hardly anything. Very interesting interview, Ricks (Rick and Rico) ;) .
I agree with you as far as the Trek Movie. Don't knock it until you've tried it. ;D
Sooooo....Lynn's going to be on the podcast finally. Sweet!
