Title: Flavor Tripping
Post by: X on April 17, 2009, 05:30:30 PM
Okay, today I received my miracle fruit tablets in the mail and had a small flavor tripping party with the wife. For those of you that don't know what miracle fruit is, it's a small fruit that when chewed, alters your taste buds and make bitter and sour things sweet. It was amazing.

Lemons tasted like the sweetest and best lemonade on the planet. Limes were the same. Olives tasted like this weird but tasty candy. Red bull tasted like snowcone syrup. It's really hard to explain it, but I recommend everyone give it a go. The fruits can be bought fresh online for like 60 dollars for 20 acorn sized fruit. We opted to go the tablet route and got them for 15 bucks for 10 at thinkgeek.

The affects last anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours and well worth the price.

OH, taco bell fire sauce tasted like syrup and held no heat!

...I wonder what whole, fresh jalepenos would taste like? Or straight refined sugar?

I'll check the next time and sugar pretty much tastes like surgar. It's the sour and bitter things (and hot to some extent) that transform.

That sounds a bit freaky!  Never heard of them before.
