Title: Review of Trek movie props/toys
Post by: Rico on April 16, 2009, 05:38:11 AM
There's a good review and breakdown of the new prop toys from the Star Trek film over at Trekmovie.com.  They cover the main three pieces just starting to show up in stores now.

Check it all out here:

I picked up the Phaser, Tricorder and Communicator today. I had seen them earlier in the day at TRU but felt they were to expensive, but then I saw them at another store later for 5 dollars less a piece so grabbed them. They are pretty cool, though the sounds for stun on the phaser sounds strange, sounds like it shorts out at the end.

What store did you end up getting them all at Jeff?

I bought them at a store here in Canada called Zellers, it is like Target in the states. I found toys r us to be 5 dollars more each. I ended up paying 20 dollars cdn each for them. My friend was telling me they are something like 16 or 17 each in the States. I never got a chance to look in Walmart, as when we walked in they had a code red (some sort of alarm) and everyone had to exit the building in an orderly fashion ;D . $25 was to much for me, especially for the communicator, but I could live with $20.
I guess if you are looking around, check the Targets and the Walmarts, as they might be cheaper then TRU.
